Hands off, she's mine!

Dan's have a couple of offers running right now:

1. Buy 2 Bollinger for $100

2. In Herald Sun today "Spend $100 on Wine and you can purchase 1 x Moet at $24.90".

I called Dan's and they assured me CAN purchase 1 x Moet at $24.80 if I purchase 2 x Bollinger at $100pr - that looks a pretty sweet deal to me.

Fine print in Herald Sun add says limit 1 Moet per transaction - I asked Dan's rep is there a limit on transactions - his answer - NO - go for your life.

So think I will be heading to Dan's to do this transaction 6 times - my rough calculation is 12 Bollinger at $45ea and 6 Moet at $35ea - now that does look a good deal to me.

What's wrong with 12 bolly at $45 and 6 Moët at $23.65?

Doesn't seem to work online.

It's a choice between cashback and moet... Might buy 4 bills for now and then see if I want a moet or not...

I Got my sister to grab me some of that dans deal for Christmas.

If only We didn't have the three as 2.25L limit on duty free.

My advice to everyone (free of course) is drink it. Champagne is mean to be downed and enjoyed ©

There is Krug and there is Krug which one is the one that woke you up? I would definitely be woken by the 1500 dollar bottle

Can anyone help me out with wine fridge advice please? I'm not even sure where to start, or what brands to look at.

Needs to be able to store my 2 dozen champers on the way at least, plus any of the up to 2-3 dozen other wines I have around...

Ideas?

Now I seriously do need some advice on Champagne - or more specifically where to buy it in Bali?

Will be there for 10 days over XMAS and have searched the expat blogs but just cannot seem to find Liquor outlet that might sell decent champers without totally getting up my skirt.

Anyone have any clues?

Liebherr has worked for us. Quietly does the job.

Never looked Ito the wine fridge side of things but in Europe it's serious business with many brands available

Are looking for a fridge to keep you wine and drinking temp for the short term or is this for long term cellaring?

Short-mid term cellaring.
Will use my fridge for chilling, it's mainly to prevent Perth heat and my hot house destroying champagne that takes me more than a couple of months to drink.

I'm in Perth too and I just sold my 312 bottle Liebherr fridge a couple of months ago. I had it for around four years and no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this brand.

I did a lot of research a few years ago before making the purchase. You get what you pay for with these fridges. Also, whatever size you buy, it will be too small in a few months/years. Trust me :)

Some random thoughts.

Some fridges are much nicer looking than others. You tend to pay a lot for a nice glass door etc.

Whatever the rated capacity is, that is for Bordeaux bottles. You are unlikely to ever get that many bottles into your fridge, especially when you add pesky champagne bottles to the mix.

If its simply for storage, just get a single zone fridge.

I looked around at the various electrical stores. The range was pretty average actually and did a lot of my research online. I found the auswine forum at auswine.com.au to be a pretty good source of information.

Feel free to ask any specific questions or PM me for contact details if you want to chat about it.

With our street picnic coming up shortly I jut ordered 6 of the Billecart your way Cruiser so they are about $48 a bottle. By the time the picnic has finished we should be thinking that was a brilliant idea and then a short walk home.
