LOL I think the heading with dates gives it away its in NovemberI'm confused, is this gathering you talk of in the next week or so?? I will be in Perth tomorrow and love to meet some of you
I have a Red Balloon voucher and Rottnest Island is included with bike hire and snorkel set.IIRC you can book discounted tickets via RAC and such also. Trying to rack my brains as to how Mrs Flashback and I did it last trip, I remember there was some promo. Day trips tend to get discounted pricing anyway. We paid $165 for the 2 of us including bike hire and a snorkel set.
On a more serious note, there is no formal dress code unless explicitly listed in the thread. (e.g. assume casual to smart casual). The younger & more casual folk often wear T-Shirts. Some of us keep it a little classier
Depending on the nature of the event, it is usually good to have some cash to split bills.

Cash? What is this cash? Is that that weird plastic stuff that your ATMs try to push on me when I want money from them?
I'm looking at about a 10% chance of making it for this, depends on what I want to redeem my miles (and vacation days) for. If AA and QF would get their booking issues sorted out, basically can't book QF awards using AA miles right now , and if I decide to trade off a few days in New Zealand for a few days in Perth, chances will go way up.
Australian money is plastic, so you can put it through the washing machine when "laundering" your ill gotten gains.
But my point was that unfortunately Australian service culture has yet to reach a point where servers are capable of the simple mathematics and credit card terminal operation skills required to split a bill. Therefore cash is useful.
Also, since when have you lived in AUS? I was there in November, would have reached out if I knew you were there.
April 2015. Wish I had known you were around! Hope you made it to Uchi or one of the other really good restaurants here when you visited.
