Firstly CBR was voted for and now October 7-9 are the most popular dates.

Results are:

Sep 30-Oct 2: 1 █             3.70%


Oct 7-9:     12 ████████████ 44.44%

I haven't yet decided which hotel I will be staying at, but will likely be one of Novotel, Crowne Plaza, Rydges Lakeside or, less likely, Hyatt. Anyway, now that we have a date to work with, it gives us something to use in tracking down hotel deals (and flights if a sale comes up)

Thanks :mrgreen: now I am back in Australia (as of yesterday morning) I can start the organising.

So who is likely to attend? I'll need some numbers for planning purposes please.

I do have a couple of ideas for events that I will think about a bit and present for comment in the near future. Also, is there anybody else here who wants to be on the planning committee?

Either post here or a PM and we can start with the aim of changing the view than CBR is sleepy hollow.

Unfortunately I am heading back to Thailand 5 days later.

So at this early stage I am not likely to attend but may come down from Brisbane for the Saturday night only if I can find cheap airfares in late August or September.

I'm thinking because the title of this thread statrts with"Poll" that maybe people will see it as a 'spent' thread and possibly a new one with a different title may be in order and get a better response rate as far as who will attend and what the schedule of events is? Anyway it's your baby so I'll butt out from here.

I'm happy to help in any way I can, but CBR is not a place I've been to many times, so as far as local expertise goes I cannot offer any. Happy to help with some of the footwork though if you need.

And Canberra has a nice lounge, and great staff as well.

I don't like it TBH.

Then again, my idea of the perfect lounge is a place to sit with a glass of wine and relax while enjoying the view. You can't do that in the CBR J lounge (the DJ lounge on the other hand...).

Anyway, I've blocked out that long weekend in my calendar and as a local I should be able to help out with planning (having said that, I haven't been a tourist in my own city in the 5 years I've been here, so I should do some of that).

Should be two good weekends. I'm planning my yearly trip to Fiji on the long weekend before
