It is no contest straitman! I have no doubt NM will get to 10,000 posts first and deservedly so. Just like Lindsay Wilson deserved to be the first to reach 1,000 posts.

I am just humbled to be included in such great company even though many do not agree with my point of view or my posting style.

It was so subtle, you never even noticed ;)

Earlier this afternoon, we acted on your (collective) recommendation and made some slight changes to user titles, based on post counts.

The new levels are:

1 - 9 posts New Member
10 - 99 posts Junior Member
100 - 999 posts Member
1,000 - 4,999 posts Established Member
5,000 - 9,999 posts Senior Member
1,0000+ posts Posting Enthusiast

(Compare to the old levels:
1 post Newbie
2 - 9 posts Junior Member
10 - 19 posts Member
20 - 99 posts Senior Member
100+ posts Posting Freak)

This is a far more sensible structure which better reflects the "demographics" of our community. Thanks for all your input and a special thanks to Straitman for the suggestion and managing the poll.

Sheesh - I have dropped from a senior member to an established member???

I demand a recount!!!!

I've been gypped!

:p

I'm happy that I'm no longer considered a freak :).

"Member" more correctly reflects my status as an occasional commentator.

I wouldn't worry too much. At 6.64 posts per day it won't take you long to get back to senior member. ;)

Just a good ole ordinary member.Sounds about right for me.

I'm happy to see that there isn't a serious negative reaction and hope that people will still talk to me after this  ;)

Good descriptions.

We'll have a chat at the FT AGM. I owe you a couple of beers anyway. ;)

Hmmmm ... never had the chance to be established. :p

Though, I was a newbie for about 3 minutes ... ;)

As for "Posting Enthusiast", somehow when NM attains that level, I just don't feel Enthusiast is adequate.

Something neo-deity like; Guru? Supra-Acolyte?

I just noticed I made my century - and also that you have intoduced the new posting levels. :)

I should get my trip notes into a report for you soon - our holiday built around the CMB fare on Alitalia to JFK via Italy, thanks to glenntwenty on FT.
glenntwenty helped me with some nice premium fares there - such as the fare on Malaysian (noted just now on the MH thread) SIN-KUL (F), KUL-MLE-CMB for around $700. It was then bought through tinkybelle's connections and you can price it on the local agent websites like zuji.

FYI it's easy to change the SIN-KUL shuttle at the SIN transit desk from MH to SQ F, so that you can enjoy the new SQ lounge in T3.
We did that, prepared to go on SQ F, then decided we wanted to catch a later shuttle.
I shuttled back to the T2 desk (this time MH!) and changed tix back to MH F, to get the 21:20 flight. Easy!

Us gypped folk should form a coalition against the dark forces of straitman that have descended on this board. Established member indeed.

Thanks oz_mark,

I've never been described as a 'dark force' before :!:

Remember I still need another 2018 or so posts to escape the 'Established Member' tag.

I concur. Till such time as I get to try an optimised DONE4, I shall be content with being a mere (hopefully valued) member.

As for getting to 1k posts, just have a few more tech threads that NM and I can waffle in and I'll be there by Christmas. ;)

Could be christmas in July if someone gets a really juicy "Impact of wireless on engine noise levels between AUS and SJC while on a DONE4" thread going.

Or not.

Devaluation?! I was counting on my 'Posting Freak' status for the litany of top tier statuses I can recite...

'Established Member' sounds way cooler though. :D

I don't like them. You've gone from too close together to too far apart now. I still think "levels" should be ditched altogether and this seems to be supported by the low number of poll votes.
