AIR - A Qantas Magazine

I feel it is all about advertising and QF make them "exclusive" to get the top end marketing dollars.

Doesn’t help that the things they advertise in them would cost so much you wouldn’t be able to fly Qantas for a year as you were paying for another service ;)

I suppose there are some that read it and could afford both luxuries though.

I think those that could do both are actually the target audience of the magazine.

As has been mentioned in the thread several times previously, just because someone has WP does not mean they have money. This can be especially true for company funded travelers that reach WP this way.

Never received an Air Magazine. Have earned over 8000 SC in the last 42 months.

However, since coming across AFF, more than 50% of my SC's have been earned from travel on Airlines other than Qantas.

I actually saw a copy of Air Magazine for the first time the other day. Now I know what I have been missing I am definitely not concerned at all :!:

Sounds like the Amex Plat magazine which in the majority, is seeking the high earner - whereas the QF magazine will be looking for the profitable premium QF client

Last one was not a major winner with me - but this one at least had some different takes on Australian wines from a variety of hospitality in-people. Always good to see when someone else's judegement of a vineyard matches your own!

Don't know how the 'select' whom to send AIR to - started receiving one as soon as I hit Platinum in time for edition 6 - nowhere near as many SC per year as some have mentioned here. BUT - in your profile - has anyone checked Yes to receive promotional material: if checked NO, that could be one reason?

Good call, however, I have been checked no for promotional material for as long as I can remember

Mr!

It will be interesting to see whether I get AIR later this year after hitting WP PG. I will have about 2500 SCs this qualifying year of which about 1800 will be on QF...

I hope I get the magazine.

I will be 2300 SC's this year at least. ALL on QF.

I will get to Platinum (1st time) on the 20th of April which is 1/2 way through my member year. I have enough additional flights already booked with QANTAS to get Partner Gold, which is a bit of a waste, as my partner achieved gold earlier this month in their own right.

Wow, I feel special. Just found this thing in my letterbox (03.10), after 2 years as WP.

Haven't actually spent a cent of my own money on QF in the last 12 months ... shhhh :)

Have just hit 1,730 SCs in the last year - my assessment date is tomorrow - all on QF, but all in 20 SC, 1000pt guaranteed minimum economy hops paid for by work ... must have been one lonely 10 SC discount economy hop in there somewhere.

I have a relative who gets it - current QFF year will be a total of 3905 SCs.

Needless to say, he reads it. He's never bought anything (expensive) that's been advertised in it

I've been WP & PG for the past 5 years and received the first 6 editions of AIR but have not received edition 7.
