Air Berlin status match

Nothing else as far as I can see. So you would meet that by having your QF Bronze number on the QF boarding pass and then present your AB Gold card to access the lounge.

This will confuse the QP Dragon - just done that today at SYD T3. FF Bronze on the BP, flashed the MPC GO, Dragon got confused, called supervisor for help and changed my BP to CX number. Not that it matters, it was a redemption flight anyway.

Are status matches only for gold and above, or can a qff silver be matched to the equivalent level?

This is concerning.

My concern is it shouldn't be happening, period. Changing FF numbers in and out is fraught with danger, in my experience. Some agents can do it properly, most don't.

I do think that the airline is concerned about getting payment for the lounge access, but you're absolutely correct about agents being able to change numbers properly.

On the flipside, CBR QP couldn't care less - none of this card swiping, FF number changing antics. Better service and less crowded to boot.

tried my luck with MPG - fail
will dig out the EY when im back and try again :D

"thank you for your status match request.

A status match with your frequent flyer card as a member of oneworld is not possible.
You can collect miles for flights with Cathay Pacific to your topbonus account."

Myself and at least one other AFF member have had negative experiences in CBR. I've had issues more than once. There is a particular gentleman who will not permit accessing the lounge under one membership and crediting to another.

Be assertive. Ask him to show you which part of the oneworld website T&Cs say that is a condition of access.

You should get his name so QF can school him on the rules.

I suppose there's still an opportunity to change it at the gate...and I think I know which gentleman you're referring to, I saw him last week kicking up a fuss over something.

I've said it before so I'll say it again: the slightly odd looking middle-aged gentleman (and, again, I say that only as a way to distinguish him given no one seems to have his name). I think he's a senior as I've seen him in the Qantas Club and Chairmans in addition to the J lounge.

My Gold topbonus card arrived in the mail yesterday

OT but it has reminded me that I wish QF would issue basic* bag tags again.

*not the great big ugly round disc ones

Still waiting for my TK *A Gold card to arrive so I can show Air Berlin!

I'm still waiting for mine as well!

My new Air Berlin Gold card arrived today. Matched from Etihad Gold (deceased), matched from Qantas Gold (deceased). Came with luggage tags too.

Has anyone used it to gain entry to Qantas Pub yet?
