VH-EBE out on its first international service as QF41 SYD-CGK. EBA has also operated this service over the last few weeks.

Interesting given it had previously been suggested that the older A330-200s with iPads only in Y wouldn't be doing international services

Likely the case with only EBS/EBV/EBG/EBL being international.

Assume EBD will follow EBC. Then is it EBG/EBL with SkyBedIs and RC IFE or the latter ones with Panasonic
???

My pure guess is EBC,EBD,EBG,EBL as then every aircraft will be Panasonic/iPad which will presumably make OnQ more easy.

Would also mean the continuation of the earlier aircraft doing international routes for a while, but delivers a superior product fleet wide more quickly

Noticed that too. But reckon it is because EBS is in maintenance.

Had flights to and from Brisbane (ex Per) changed to Jetstar config at the last minute.

The outbound was substituted in the last couple of hours - when a refurb was shown initially at OLCI

Goes to show - can't guarantee anything until you are sitting in the seat

Just got off QF36 with the new seats (VH-QPA). Used the preset "take off" recline option. Crew then came and put it back to full upright.
So much for "can recline for take off and landing".

Also had the same thing done to my seat for landing...maybe someone forgot to tell the crew about it?

Me too - I've only been allowed to use the pre-set recline mode once out of a dozen or more flights. They often make me get out and stand in the isle while they fiddle with the controls until the light indicates it is ok for landing

Isn't it misleading then that they've advertised such a "feature" of the seat?

The light has to be correct. Only limited positions pass and I think leg rest must be fully in. If you've played with it, may not pass

I was on VH-EBE operating QF81 SYD-SIN on Saturday... overheard a number of complaints about the Y seats and iPad IFE from those around me. One complainant was an older DYKWIA who made reference to other pax and crew no less than 4 times about being LTG.

I resisted the urge to check his reaction when this WP was greeted by the CSM with a glass of J's finest...

Cheers,
Matt.

What were the complaints??
Seats are near identical and freshly recovered. The iPad is arguably a larger and better quality (pixel res and brightness) than the older ex2 screens. Yes you can't hang the iPad until 10min in but on an 8hr flight does it matter??

I've had ipads on QF a couple times - the sound quality was terrible (cheap ear-plugs with sound only through one ear). Have they fixed that? And is the selection of programs as extensive on ipad?

The answer to both questions is a simple NO

Drop the iPads, yes they may have a bigger screen, but there are unreliable. I am yet to complete a flight with out a iPad failing.
