Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

The bad news is EBG left brisbane today and has flown to singapore

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

Correct or dislike.

So seems EBG/EBL will remain in non-refurb config for some time...

Probably my fault here, when I jinxed it by telling my +1 that on our last flight, it would be the last time she'll ever see those old seats...

Well AA that jinx really worked. I do look before I book but substituted planes can mess this up.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

Used points to upgrade to business next Tuesday on QF652 Perth - Brisbane Red Eye only to find it is a non refurbished A330.

QF 3 and 4 for the next couple of days being operated by QPA - a refurbed 333. There does seem to be a practice that QF is deliberately not putting refurbed 332s on HNL (J toilet and galley issues).

Galley is THE issue.

Is the Mel-Sin in December (27th) likely to be a good version?

l guess we have to wait and see what happens 1 January. if the entire fleet isn't refurbished let's hope QF does the right thing with (a) completely free cancellations to those who want them (even sale fares) or (b) provides suitable compensation at check-in.

An an airline can't have it both ways... can't keep silent and let people book and then not offer a refund if they can't deliver the product as advertised.

And what about the 200 series?

I'm travelling QF41/42 on 12/16 october.

Good news, subharpoon and Ewing. Ty.

From lounge thread, Ewing i see you're in F but I'm just in J!

I was about to book SYD-BKK on Dec 15th and thought I'd better check seating - it's showing as a non-refurb??

Folks it's very easy to see if your A330-200 is refurbished. Only 2 are U refurbished out of 18.
(All the A330-300 are refurbished)

Just look at the Qantas seatmap for your flight to

J class refurb only has 4 across- so if you're is refurb then it's either -200 or -300
J class non refurb is 6 across - so it's only the -200.

And if you are booking Y then it really does not matter what A330 you get, except the refurb have slightly less toilets overall

Toilet : pax ratios
A330-200(r) J 1:28, Y 1:48 (overall 1:38)
A330-200(u) J 1:18, Y 1:39 (overall 1:33)
A330-300 J 1:14, Y 1:44 (overall 1:37)

(Corrected ratios - thanks Flyerqf)

Assuming all a330-xx_ flights operates all A330 routes then you have 8.6 % of encountering an unrefurbshed A330-200. But all passengers would be better off toilet wise in an unrefurbised A330-200 and J in refurb A330-300

However from a practical POV I did not see a queue for the J toilet when I was on QF35 MEL-SIN on a refurb -200

It certainly matters to me when booking Y - USB charging, better IFE, better seat, optional espresso request if I get lucky with crew :)
