Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

I saw what looked like (from the freeway) a QF 330 doing circuits at Avalon on Sunday.

Any ideas why (it would be there / doing circuits)?

The massive winds that saw one runway closed?

Is there some reason why the Wiki in this thread largely off topic?

It seemed appropriate when creating the wiki page that it was all grouped together, however we are open to suggestions as people see fit. I can certainly split the configuration threads into separate wiki pages.

Feedback and help is supported and appreciated! :)

Please split the pages as this is confusing much better to have it on topic rather than topics.

Does anyone know why QPJ is currently positioning HNL-VCV as QF6003?

And if you are booking Y then it really does not matter what A330 you get, except the refurb have slightly less toilets overall.
It did matter to me on my first flight in economy a month ago but it may also have been perception. I was in 23B and those red seats were awful. Then next flight in exit row window and all felt ok. Not sure if the bulkhead in row 23 felt cramped or that 2 large people sitting in 23AB.

Have a few more A330 flights coming up and will also need bassinet but will more than likely stay in exit row and wife can be in aisle seat in same row with bassinet.

That's certainly an interesting one. Also curious to know the answer.

That's a little worrying!

It only had the new seats installed in June, so that's ~4 months of wear before retirement!!

Wishful thinking that they're picking up something over there, but not sure why they would need to fly an A330 charter instead of booking a seat on a standard service ;)

Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me... yet

Qantas source has it listed as positioning to Honolulu. Though that in itself begs the question why.

One thing to be careful of with flight radar and positioning flights is flight radar remembers other flights that have used the same flight number. So what I am saying is QF6003 may have been previousled used for a flight to Victoriaville via HNL so with this flight using the same number flight radar may be just assuming it is going onto Victoriaville. Time will tell.

Could be a glitch, but looks real.

Interesting - it didn't even operate a scheduled service to HNL - it positioned there yesterday, overnighted in HNL, and today positioned to VCV .........

There's not some aerosexual group doing a charter that we didn't know about ??

Suggested on YSSY (and seemingly another forum) that QPJ might be going to Victorville for a repaint (QPH, QPI, QPJ are still in the old Roo scheme). The other 5 333s were repainted in QPG (Paya Lebar in Singapore) over the last 18 months.

The QPG repaints typically took about a fortnight.

That would make sense. Has any other QF a/c been painted over there I wonder?

Would have to be a pretty good price to save money painting in VCV after burning all that fuel to get there compared to SIN!

Please split the pages as this is confusing much better to have it on topic rather than topics.

The pages have now been split and I encourage those in the know to not only post in the thread when there are updates, but also to keep the wiki updated with the correct information. If there are any errors, please feel free to edit.

Be careful with the table though, it's a different beast compared to the ones found on the discussion board.

You can now find the [WIKI=Qantas-B737-Configurations]737 wiki here[/WIKI].

It's either that or SIN doesn't paint very well. Wonder how the arrangement goes with landing at QPG as well, it's a military base after all.
