Showing that A332s can turn up in strange places, VH-EBS travelled SYD to PEK yesterday (and was late). Normally reserved for the two A332s with the additional crew rest and larger galley.

ormally reserved for the two A332s with the additional crew rest and larger galley.

VH-EBS is the first of the new Longhaul 332s with additional crew rests and larger galley (and reduced seating). I expect it (and EBO when it comes out of BNE in the next fortnight) will gradually replace EBG/EBL on the PEK routes.

VH-EBO out today and should be in the new 332L config.

VH-EBV hasn't flown since 24-Jul so it will possibly be the 3rd reconfig.

In the last 8 days on SYD-PEK --
2/8 with the 332L EBS, 5/8 EBG/EBL and 1/8 333

Looks like VH-EBG may have gone in for reconfig (yay!) As it hasn't flown since Wed morning when it arrived in BNE.

VH-EBV still yet to reenter service.

EBO/EBS have mostly been used for SYD-PEK in the past week, although back to EBL today.

Also a report on YSSY that a Qantas internal memo suggests EBM/EBN (the other two 332s with IFE in Y) will be reconfigured to the 332L config - which would make a fleet of 8

This makes sense as these two will otherwise be the odd ball in the domestic/international short haul flight which will total 10 (including EBG and EBL).

With an extra 2 A332L in the future, one has to wonder whether QF has any plans to start some new routes or increase frequencies...

VH-EBV back in service on test today as QF6114.

As flagged above VH-EBG hasn't flown since 22-Aug, so seems to be next to be converted (although it will be converted back to domestic config)

VH-EBG back flying a test today them BNE-PER.
Only 3wks and reportedly hasn't been converted. Possibly some minor maintenance, and it will be the aircraft held over till next year.

VH-EBR back in service making the 4th 332L.
VH-EBL also appears to have gone into maint (1 Oct) - unclear if for regular maintenance or refurb to Dom config.
VH-EBM reportedly scheduled to fly to SIN for repaint tomorrow

Heads up re J seating on the 330-300’s, specifically QPC in which I flew last night/this morning.

The footwell in 1A is about 15cm narrower than 1E/F due to the design of the 1L door and galley.

This might already be noted in the thread. If so, consider it a useful reminder that 1E/F are the primo seats if legroom while sleeping is important.

EBP reported back in service on BNE-SIN today which should make it the 5th aircraft in 27J config

Just received a seat change alert from Award Wallet for QF20 on 26 November, possibly an aircraft change.

Can someone confirm which aircraft is allocated and what are the better J seats for a couple?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is any help, but currently showing on EF:

Edit: Seems to be this:

Not easy holding hands, there, from memory. At least there’s better eye contact across the aisle in some rows.

And note they are offset. So if you do select seats across the aisle you’ll need seats one number higher in the middle. Eg. 1A + 2E.

Also, if sleep is important the foot well in 1 E/F is much bigger than any of the other J seats.

Thanks DC3 & the Captain.

I suspected as much. Unfortunately QF have allocated us 3E & 4A: so useless.

Any thoughts on E/F in the mini cabin (row 6 or 7) versus 3E/F?

VH-EBL scheduled for test flight this afternoon as QF6003 after a bit over two months in maintenance

VH-EBL back into service today, positioning BNE-SIN as QF6114 and then operating QF922 SYD-CNS

Can someone with an EF subscription check the seatmap for QF922
(PDF seatmap on QF website haven't been updated)

VH-EBW possibly replacing it in maintenance, positioning back empty as QF6004
