A332's and A333's in International config (Skybed) have Rockwell Collins eTES entertainment, rather than Panasonic.

Interesting I was told to put mine away last Dec. has there been a change of policy?

I was told it was a safety issue

I think the gate to gate may only apply to the new J suites. I have always had the mattress removed for landing for Skybed 1 and 2.

the leather doesnt get sweaty....you do!! ...and thousands of travellers seem to manage with leather seating (without sweating) across many airlines (including domestic) in all classes over many flight lengths... so i suggest if you despise leather seating that much even after an hour or so.....drive in your cloth seated car or catch a cloth seated train or bus!! at least on any QF domestic J/C (and Y/C if you ask) you can get a blanket to use as a seat covering......VA take note!!

There's passion for you.

So, serfty sweats but thousands of travellers don't. OK. ... Sounds like serfty is the normal one out of that lot.

I do drive my cloth seated car and use cloth seated public transport. Your point being?

Leather is fine for short trips but beyond that ( eg 5 to 12 hours) it's not as comfortable as cloth covering, but it's easier to clean. Is that such a controversial thing?

I can confirm that. I had put the mattress on before pushback on a flight less than a week ago. Was told that they could not be put on until after take-off due to safety regulations and they had to be removed prior to landing. However, they'll be allowed from gate to gate with the new suites.

Really? Another variation? What's this aircraft's discerning feature of the same aircraft with Skybed Mk I?

Check the exit row numbers. The seat map is EBM/N.

With the return of the JQ 332's, there will be 5 different variations of the 332's when the suites come on line.

Goes off to cut head off with blunt fork, since that seems infinitely more fun and achievable than understanding the QF seat maps for the next 2 years :sigh:.

It's nothing new unfortunately. Both the 767's and 747's had a number of different seat maps whilst they were the mainstay of the fleet.

Oh sweet Mother . . .

This is gonna do my head in.

Leave some fork for me.

I think the suggestion is the
A330-300s introduced from 1/15 (not 12/14) and will have combination cloth/leather seats and be used for (all/mostly) international services
A330-200s introduced from 12/14 and will have all leather seats and be used for domestic services

A330-300s will also get new Y Recaro seats (like A380) with footnet and shared power
A330-220s just Q-streaming
Ref: Qantas upgrades economy class seats on domestic international Airbus A330s - Australian Business Traveller

Re your -200 assumptions, I think you are reading specific details into what was a rather generic and non specific press release. Seeing how they are using -200's more than before on international routes coupled with changes that will see more A330's needed for international there is no way -200's will be domestic only. I think you will see the current 4 international units and the current domestic -200's with fixed seat IFE brought up to the same standard as the -300's. The older -200's (including those returned from JQ) will see Q streaming only.
