ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

Just received an email today announcing the new A330 seating.

Why does Qantas persist in saying these are the world's first seats that allow recline from take-off until landing? The claim is clearly false unless there is some good qualification QF is relying on that hasn't been explained?

Is the airline rep simply ignoring feedback that seats offering recline from take-off until landing are already offered (and have been for many years) by Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand?

It might be the world's first A330 seats that allow it? The wording is still poor though if that's what they are relying on...

Calling it a 'suite' is a bit rich, I reckon.
It probably satisfies the dictionary definition but, then, so would a standard economy seat.

It's the word 'de jour' ...VA calls their new seat a 'suite' too..as well as many other airlines who have chosen a variation of the same seats that QF and VA have chosen...J/C has evolved over the years and customers expectations have risen... J/C 'seats' are more the norm of LCC...while J/C 'suites' are becoming more the norm of Premium carriers...marketing is a powerful tool
i'm referring to medium/longhaul marketing...not domestic/shorthaul marketing

But those nz seats recline but not into bed mode. Are qf saying you can stay in bed mode during landing?

Does anybody know if the final version of the seat going into the aircraft is leather or fabric? The official images QF have released show both, while I think the mock up at the launch was all black leather and the version in the promo video shows blue fabric?? Did they run out of time finishing the customisation of the mock up before they had to roll it out or are some of the promo pics wrong?

Here are some of the shots I am talking about.

This one seems to show the seat finished in a dark blue fabric with the seat cushions divided up in a similar pattern to the Skybed seats and only the headrest is finished in leather.

This shot shows the whole seat covered in black leather with a rather ugly (IMHO) pattern/division of the cushions.

I for one am hoping that they have gone with the dark blue fabric finish as I think it not only looks a lot smarter but is far more practicable and comfortable! For longer flights I find fabric far more comfortable and as it breathes far better you don't get so sweaty and stick to the seat! I also like the subtle nod to the skybed in the similar cushion style of the fabric versions.

This shot also shows the fabric version - fingers crossed this is the actual final finish and the mock ups at the launch were just the off the shelf leather seat of the standard Thomson seat.

Maybe a confirmation of the first flights

"Alan Joyce and Queensland Premier Campbell Newman will visit the
Brisbane hangar this morning to inspect progress with the A330 upgrade
program and make a further announcement."

I know but it's odd that some of the official promo shot's show the different fabric. RED ROO - any chance you could confirm either way which is the final finish?

Will a photo do

Ahhh ... indeed it looks like sweaty Leather!!!

How LCC!

Might be just the photo, but it looks to be a smaller space than the current top-tier J products on, eg, CX and SQ.

It's 1-2-1 so the width is the width.
CX is also 1-2-1 in its A330 reconfigured.

SQ has an older product (2-2-2) in its A330s.

Hmmmm - hard to say LOL. If only Campbell had of lent forward a little further!!! It's very hard to see the colour, but from the textures I can make out, I think the headrest is leather and the rest of the seat may actually be the dark blue cloth finish. Hope I am right!!!!

Looks all black leather to me..
The fabric was quite distinguishable on the original press photos
