AmEx Platinum Card: 325,000 Bonus Points (Spend $5000 in 3 Months), $450 Travel Credit, $400 Dining Credit, $1450 Annual Fee

Considering I've never seen it waived, I would say very.
Me neither. Don't risk missing the bonus IMO

1. How hard would this card hit my credit rating if I held onto it? I've always closed a card before applying for a new one.. would like to keep this as a regular card and still churn others...
Have never held a charge card but have often had an amex in conjunction with other bank cards. Imagine this will not contribute to the "combined credit limit" on a credit report or list a value against the enquiry. However, credit scores in my experience seem to still be mainly impacted by the number of enquiries.

2. How strict are Amex on the waiting period between cards? I closed the QF Ultinate about 12 months ago......
Very strict sorry ... I have heard from high spenders ($1 mil and over each month) are not given the waiver of waiting period, which kinda sucks ... Not that oftentimes those high spenders will need the sign on bonus, but I have heard from folks that have been knocked back

Unfortunately referral links all showing as 200k for me. Tried VPN (BNE, MEL, PER and AKL) with incognito browser ... nothing 😪

Thanks for the replies guys - looks like I’ll need to revisit the idea in six months.

What I will do thought is call up and find the exact date I’m eligible if they’re records are that good

I was able to get the deal via referral link using 4G connection (not wifi). But looks like that's no longer available as well (200k points now).

Ppl with charge cards, put your referral link on OZB wiki AMEX referral - it is allowed to do so. I did last week, and got 3 x 45k referral's already!

According to our points summary, 3 x 45k points came in 20th and 21st.
There are apprently 140 random referrals sitting there, so to get 3 of them, ALOT of people must be signing up...or we got super lucky.

Do check whether there's a limit and remove your link if you have hit it, just to make sure it's not wasted - I don't know how it works for the charge but other amexes I've had in the past have been 200k per annum, for example

Does anyone know if you can apply without an income?

I.e. I already have an amex which I will probably cancel if I can't get an upgrade offer, however one strategy may be to have my wife apply (not currently working) and I go as a supplementary cardholder. She's already a supplementary holder on my current card.

Is there a chance she can apply without an income but I go as guarantor (and pay it off each month)?

Bummed that I opened the link last week and it was showing 325k, however decided not to proceed.. now after 2 days of trying everything possible still getting 200k. Maybe the 325k will pop another day

Doesn't look likely. Nothing on my end.

When do the bonus points generally post for the charge card? Is it immediately with the transaction that takes you over the spend requirement like the MR earning credit cards? And is the annual fee charged at the end of the first statement? Wondering whether it’s possible to transfer out the bonus points, use the travel (and other) credits, pay off what’s owing and then close the card before being charged the annual fee? Have been successful in doing this with the Explorer card previously.

I think it’s definitely possible
