Interesting again - I am P1 and have flown fortnightly or more for the past six months...

I'm at about 2000 SC this year (2400ish last year) and definitely not a big points earner.

Like I said, I'm kind of surprised I received an invite.

It is interesting how they pick people. Like you I am P1 with +4000sc last year and sitting on 2500sc this year with 6months to go.

Points burn then? I've been flying every mon and thurs. Perth Melbourne day return twice weekly using points for business upgrades. Also took domestic JASA's and international J classic awards in nov.

I can see why I wasn't picked, as while I'm only scraping in with 1200SC for the year, per my signature, I've had plenty of time to add more and am instead focusing on the next calendar year already instead. My 1200 will be wiped at midnight and I begin again.

Just received an invite to the Sydney event at 1.13pm. Also surprised to be invited... I'm thinking I must have made the second or third round offers :)

In your position & loyalty evident Samh004, I would be writing & submitting to the decision makers a strong letter of questioning & reasoning why you were not chosen??
Disappointing QF, disappointing :o

i got an invite also to Sydney. i have flown 120 flights with QF in the last 12months. but not P1 as flying on discount economy so ~ 3000SCs

Likewise approx 3k SC's here and all I got was spam about a Nigerian Prince gifting me millions of GBP in my inbox ;)

I got the email for the BNE event, don't think I can make it though.

Would have been nice to catch up and say hi to Lesley and the crew.

Not sure why i received it.. Just about to requal P1 with 3,585 this year all with QF~ and banking 7 figures of points annually

Perhaps we can figure out some similarities to see what the criteria was?

I got an invite today for the BNE event. Almost never use my QF points but I do give them about 3000SCs worth of business every year. More now that I can go to Dubai on QF.

I'm up for drinks after the event if any other BNE frequent flyers fancy it. let me know.

My Dad got an invite this evening. It's definitely linked to points earn/burn, as he is a nothing bronze and has always been that way. Has 520-ish lifetime SC...

How many points as he burnt recently? I just burned 600K...

I got an invite for next week's PER event. Is it actually worth going to? Never been to QF events. Will have to leave work early to get there so will only go if it is something worthwhile (more than a drink and then speeches of propaganda). Any idea?

Not that many really, 256,000 in the past 12 months, all transcontinental flying. However he has earned almost 500,000 points in that time, almost all from direct-earn CC (plus about 5k from Optus/Woolies).

I'd suggest he is exactly the type of PAX that QF would target with this kind of low-key event, as transcon is now a key battleground with VA and Velocity's increasing presence in the CC market would be having an impact.
