Announcing our New Velocity Frequent Flyer Program

A lot of great sounding stuff announced today.

I'm going to need to set aside some time this weekend to digest all of this.

I'm QFF platinum and I'm totally open to the idea of switching teams.

They turning gold straight into Platinum?

It seems some have been already, I was credited points today to take mine over the 1000 mark and it still shows Gold, VA Rep, can you confirm it would then take the extra day?

I know exactly who that is then. Say hi to them (and ask them if they're doing matches over the w/end, I may have to have a drive out to MEL to do it there and then!) :D

I showed him your comment. He said he won't be here over the weekend but there will be staff who will be doing the status match.

I have a question. I have 981 status credits with a PE PER-MEL-PER booked in two weeks that will send me Platinum. My review date is April 2012.

Do I only get Platinum till then?

And by the way, there are banners promoting the status match saying something like 'Bring your card to the lounge today . . ." so it may well be all the DJ lounges are doing today. Perhaps call your nearest lounge to find out.

If you are near Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne Lounges this afternoon pop in and say hi.
We have specialist team members there until 7pm tonight, who are more than happy to answer your questions and match any of you who aren't already Velocity Silver, Gold or Platinum.

There are also a few treats as a surprise. ;)

Does this mean that it's preferable to be status matched in a lounge than applying online? Will the same four week wait apply?

As previously alluded to, I'm the Velocity team rep at the MEL lounge and am here to assist with the Status Match Promotion and Relaunch activities. I'll be here all of this week and possibly all of next week. Won't be here weekends I'm afraid but our lovely Lounge Angels will be more than happy to assist if you're here over a weekend. I'm situated at the service desk. Feel free to pop by and be status matched if you're passing through MEL, and i'll also be happy to answer any questions you may have about the exciting new Velocity Frequent Flyer!

We also have Velocity team members stationed at our lounges in SYD, BNE and CBR.

Indeed! :D Cool treats in store at our lounges in SYD, BNE and MEL this afternoon to celebrate the Relaunch.

Indeed! :D

:( Once again DRW misses out :D

Regarding "anytime Lounge access"..... If you check the membership benefits page, you will notice that Gold members have 'complimentary access' (with one guest), while Platinum members have 'complimentary access' (with up to three guests).

So there is 'anytime access'? Wow! I can rock up to the lounge even if I'm not flying or not flying Virgin? Excellent! :)

For the actual card, yes, it will take up to four weeks.
But you will receive personal service and speak directly to someone very familiar with the Velocity program!

Also note that we still have our invitation open until Aug 31st for QF Platinum, Gold and Chairmans Lounge members to view our Lounges.
No need to be flying with us, just present your card and the Lounge experience (plus one guest) is yours.

Yes, subject to space availability.

Cheers for the reply... Bet you have your hands full today...

What ever do you mean? :D

To be honest, since the airline launch, we have ALL been so excited about the new program that at times we wanted to let you all know what we were cooking!

Lots to do now, though my outlook inbox doesn't look as full as Mr StatusMatch's does....

Cool, I've never been to a DJ lounge before and wouldn't mind a look. Will these 'specialist' staff be available over the weekend? I'm talking about SYD.

I've only skimmed through this thread because there is so much to take in, but I'm very impressed. My favourite feature would have to be the points upgrades at very reasonable prices. And it makes sense to me to only allow upgrades on flexi fares.

Good value for a PER-SYD upgrade for 9,900 points. Can't wait to use this on my next trip.

Thanks for your no spin, straight to the point answers. Appreciate it. :)

Hang on, so if I'm a DJ Gold/QF Plat then you can't do the status match (to DJ Plat) in the lounge?
