Announcing our New Velocity Frequent Flyer Program

Cool, I've never been to a DJ lounge before and wouldn't mind a look. Will these 'specialist' staff be available over the weekend? I'm talking about SYD.

Velocity team members will only be present in lounges on weekdays, but our lounge angels will be happy to help out with status match claims over weekends.

Pleasing to see so many members have availed themselves of the Status Match (between here and the Status Match thead).

Time for me to digest the whole program, not just the real "enhancements".

Hang on, so if I'm a DJ Gold/QF Plat then you can't do the status match (to DJ Plat) in the lounge?

You will be matched to Platinum.

Sorry what I meant to say was that if you aren't already holding the status that you're eligible to be upgraded to to, we will match you to that status upon presentation of a qualifying membership card from another airline loyalty program. :)

Pic of WP card taken on iPhone and sent off.
Will now be booking next domestic flights ( Oct) on DJ instead of JQ, only thing which stopped me before was lack of lounge access.
Thanks Velocity!! Now to see if I am matched and can retain status ;)

... Feel free to pop by and be status matched if you're passing through MEL and aren't already a Velocity Silver, Gold or Platinum member (make sure you have your Silver/Gold/Platinum equivalent membership card with you), and i'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the exciting new Velocity Frequent Flyer! ...
Hi Keith,

Is that bolded a mis-type or are you doing things differently in the Lounges? That's contrary to what's been posted here regarding the Match by Velocity FF.

I was considering popping in tomorrow evening before flying to NZ.

[EDIT]
Ah ... I see:

Poor wording on my part.

See my response to awilcockson a few posts up.

HHonors Gold for DJ Gold - Very nice!

Cool - This in itself is a great benefit!

You're not wrong there! You wouldn't believe it, I very nearly (just a few short hours ago) booked two nights in Melb. Sth Wharf Hilton for the family (2 bedroom top floor apartment) so we can go to King Tut exhibition at the Melb. museum, just so I can boost up my HHonors membership level!

Now I might spend the grand on upgrading the family to PE and hope for a BSI out of OOL......or go via SYD and try to book an A330......and have a tilt at the Plat tier and presumably score HHonors Diamond. So much to contend with  and as I've said before, I'm only a simple person

So I'm confused, with this family biz, can we transfer SCs as well as points, or just points, between family members?????

Thanks Keith, time to plan a trip to the airport!

You will be able to choose between just points, or points and SC's.
No transfer as such, more pooling the points or SC's into the one account.

In your example Swanning_it , if you were to travel overseas with the family, you could "pool" your kids SC's that they earn flying with us, into your account. Thereby you hit your membership levels much quicker.

Hmm...might take the SO (cheapskate I know!) to the Virgin lounge at T2 Syd tomorrow evening or the weekend for a couple of drinks, and then be matched to Platinum:lol:. If and when you can earn SCs with SQ, I can start flying overseas with SQ again (rekindle an old romance!!), credit SCs to Velocity to maintain Velocity Platinum, and bid farewell (to a certain degree) to QF. Just last night I was wondering whether it was worth my while to attend a conference in London in March next year, flying QF J class to maintain QF plat after my status ends in Oct 12....this could swing the trip to SQ J class!! Now, would Velocity Platinum allow access to the SQ's Silver Kris lounges if flying SQ Y class? If so, that would just about be the icing on the cake for me...I love the "anytime access" rule with 3 guests!!! QF, the ball is now in your court to prevent me jumping ship, to speak...

I'm a whinging nob if you don't mind!!!! :p

Actually I agree with you and LiamR, it is hard on those that have been loyal to DJ/VA, but it would be hard for WP's to switch if there were no perks. VA appear to want the very customers QF don't seem to care about.

I'll only take the status match if I know I can maintain WP. It is very tempting though. :)

Maybe a goodwill gesture of an upgrade for existing DJ gold who attained by bis methods ;)

What he said. Whilst I might miss access to the F Lounge in SYD, I look forward to the service on SQ.

Have to throw a negative in today, sorry!! Lounges are going to be packed to the rim now...

I'm actually in a very similar boat. I've actually booked a SQ trip a few weeks ago, so now I'm likely to have lounge access* where I was previously assigned to wandering around the terminal for a few hours in the middle of the night...

* onceI formally request the match...

Just sent off the email....only go to the lounge part after reading through the pages of posts....

This should serve as a wake up call to QF as they have been watering down the platinum benefits for too long...I have 1200 QF SC and the benefits at 2400 SC dont appeal to me; platinum-one is too far of a stretch (besides no one knows what you actually get with it).

So what does that mean- the flights in the next 8 months will now be on DJ with today's status matching.

Hope DJ returns to profitability next year so we can keep the competition going!!!

Congrats to the social media guys at DJ, you guys have been great at responding. I'm getting my own online marketing staff to use you guys as an example.

red-roo hasnt been seen for a while and is not even close to being as active...

I would not be surprised if QFF are/were watching Velocity's movements far more closely than any of the members here.

Be interesting to see if QF offer a status match of their own. Lose some and perhaps win some!

Velocity Platinum members have access to Singapore Airlines owned and operated SilverKris lounges worldwide plus the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in Changi Airport, Singapore (except when flying with Silk Air).

I'm a chocolate cake fan myself, how bout you KPC? ;)
