If and when you can earn SCs with SQ, I can start flying overseas with SQ again (rekindle an old romance!!), credit SCs to Velocity to maintain Velocity Platinum, and bid farewell (to a certain degree) to QF.

You must fly the minimum number of eligible sectors on VA metal to maintain plat though. Looks like it will be 8 origin to destination VA flights.

EXCLUSIVE OFFER - Offer expires: 20 Jan 2025

- Earn up to 200,000 bonus Velocity Points*
- Enjoy unlimited complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges worldwide
- Earn up to 3 Citi reward Points per dollar uncapped

*Terms And Conditions Apply

Have to throw a negative in today, sorry!! Lounges are going to be packed to the rim now...

Not really, it will ease some of the load off the QPs, and hopefully result in more business to DJ so they continue to offer real competition, which we all benefit from.

Velocity Platinum members have access to Singapore Airlines owned and operated SilverKris lounges worldwide plus the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in Changi Airport, Singapore (except when flying with Silk Air).

D'oh! I'm connecting to Silk Air... I guess I'll have something on the return trip, although I'd really prefer the access on the outbound trip, I've some 6 hours from midnight... (Or can I access the Silver lounge instead?)

Ah well... Can't win them all...

Here's another interesting note:

My review date used to be Nov something. Has now changed to today +1yr.

I wonder if the Guaranteed Reward Seats for the once a year trip applies to J seats? The wording seems to indicate this - "Redeem your Points for the seat you want when you want", but I'm struggling to believe it, coming from the QF world where finding 4 x J seats for the family to the US around Christmas is an impossible dream.

Rune.

Just spoken to BNE Lounge Goddess, Annette, who has been thrilled with the walk-ins today getting status matched on the spot. Now I understand why she wanted me to come back this afternoon for a coffee :D

I understand a number of the 18 members from yesterdays meeting have new statuses, as Annette got their details yesterday. I wonder how many DJ Plats there are today from AFF?

That's because of the new program when they changed status to rolling, today is the day you were made Platinum, therefore it will be 1 year from now you need to get 800 points to requalify.

That was part of the SC earn change made a few weeks ago, once you hit a new level the review date changes:

Review Date means the date 12 months after the date on which you earn sufficient Status Credits to:
(a) be upgraded to a new Membership Level; or
(b) maintain your current Membership Level.

My understanding (from reading the T&C's today) is that:
Upgrading to the next level of membership

We will assess your membership daily to determine whether you are eligible for an upgrade. You will automatically upgrade to the next level of membership as soon as you have achieved the required number of Status Credits and Eligible Sectors^. Once you upgrade to the next level of membership, you will enjoy your new benefits for a 12 month period

Maintaining your level of membership

Once you upgrade to a higher level of membership, you will have 12 months from the day of your upgrade to achieve the required number of Status Credits and Eligible Sectors^ to maintain your membership.

Wow, who would have believed I'd be able to answer questions about Velocity so quickly

On a related topic - Does anyone know if HH do soft landings? ;)
No ... do 28 stays in one year then you earn diamond - if you don't do 16 stays the next year then you go to Silver/nothing.

(28 for Diamond, 16 for Gold, [-]10[/-] 4 for silver)

Now I feel left out and unloved :(
Little did they know that today's announcement were known to her, but she was obviously unable to share with us last night - as was advised by the VA Rep today. But at least one member I know gave Annette their details last night (I'm not sure in what context) and unbeknown to them, she was able to Status Match them first up this morning and really make their day.

Another example of her going the extra mile. It would have been nice for this announcement to come out yesterday, so we could discuss it all on the night.

I keep thinking back to my comments to Andrew, the VA rep.

"Oh, you know your system is playing up, it's giving Golds a 75% points bonus"

Really? I better get that fixed up, enjoy the bonus points in the meantime.

It's 4 stays, or 10 nights for silver.
