Announcing our New Velocity Frequent Flyer Program

With all of the horray of a new VA program, it may seem good, but history repeats ! QF are not going to let the top tier level clients change to VA without an explosive offer.

The difference between VA + QF is that QF has more flying tin than VA + VA has less PE/Biz class seats offering. QF exsistance is soley from their domestic + frequent flyer units, any change to reveune passenger numbers flying in the pointy end of planes will be meet with a response from QF.. Anyhow the difference between VA Gold + VA Pla is not much, - two programs are on parr in real traveling terms.

If every tom/dick/harry are given access to VA lounges, upgrades, etc, then the compliants of so many QF passengers of crowed lounges, poor food choices, seating down the back, or a mid seat will become the norm.

VA are playing a numbers games, in order to secure 6 major corporate accounts... it's more about these 6 accounts they want, than anyone on this forum..

Another example of her going the extra mile. It would have been nice for this announcement to come out yesterday, so we could discuss it all on the night.
Her thoughts exactly. She'd have had a raft of Golds and Plats from last night. Most people there would have signed up.

I keep thinking back to my comments to Andrew, the VA rep.

"Oh, you know your system is playing up, it's giving Golds a 75% points bonus"

Really? I better get that fixed up, enjoy the bonus points in the meantime.
You did what??? Let them know of a fault :o

You will be able to choose between just points, or points and SC's.
No transfer as such, more pooling the points or SC's into the one account.

In your example Swanning_it , if you were to travel overseas with the family, you could "pool" your kids SC's that they earn flying with us, into your account. Thereby you hit your membership levels much quicker.

So is this available now????

I was almost going to do the airfare bookings this morning as well

Great news today VA. Well done.

I especially like this (below)....

Is there a limit of how many times you can pool points or transfer points per year? QF is very, very stingy in this department!

The upgrade certs, are they distance limited at all? A SYD-PER would be more valuable that a SYD-BNE, but still use a single voucher (excluding the fact you have to buy a Flexi ticket to start with) ?

Is VA considering J Lounges in the future, or just stay with the 1 lounge for all system?

All in all, looks good. Once again, well done.

In isolation we are nothing, but together as a group we have traction, they are thrilled with the expected level of additional revenue that they will generate.

I'm aware of one big account in BNE that they have been chasing for a while (an ASX200 company)...I know one of their senior execs very well. He has been wooed for a while.

Anyone heading to MEL airport tonight for the Status match?

I am leaning towards it as I have a few flights next week that I was originally going to book on Qantas (yes, I admit up until today I was a Qantas wxxre).... The 69KG baggage would be nice as I am helping the missus move from Brisbane to Melbourne!

Most probably.
Can you imagine snagging huge corporate accounts like those of RIO/BHP/Woodside??? Would make the combined spend on this forum peanuts. But hey, at least VA are thinking of the little fish (i.e., us).

JB and his game change plan have already had a positive effect, with corporate and government revenue up by 47% PCP, and the market has saluted the changes today with DJ up significantly.

You can transfer 4 times a year. Not sure about the pooling.

It appears the only limitation is to domestic flights. Nothing about distance. I agree it will be quite valuable on the SYD-PER trip.

I have heard a rumour that Sydney will have an upstairs Platinum lounge, but it is only a rumour. My guess would be 1 lounge system almost everywhere.

Well I only had 981 status credits and the Virgin gods upgraded me to platinum without even asking.

Velocity platinum baby...... And almost partner gold...

Same here. Velocity plat right now. Tonight's flight will tip me into partner gold. I suspect the better half will be plat too in the next little while.

Velocity Platinum members have access to Singapore Airlines owned and operated SilverKris lounges worldwide plus the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in Changi Airport, Singapore (except when flying with Silk Air).

I'm a chocolate cake fan myself, how bout you KPC? ;)
Great news!, unfortunately, I'm on a self imposed diet so no chocolate cake for the forseaable future...:(

Velocity Frequent Flyer, Can I confirm that as a Velocity Platinum member travelling in Y class on SQ, you can access the Silver Kris Lounge at Changi airport, not just the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge? The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is inferior to the Silver Kris Lounge and does not have showers or bathrooms within:shock::oops:
No more shower facilities at SIN SQ lounge for EG and *G travelling in Y? - SQTalk
