Have been approved. How long have people waited for the card to arrive?

Assuming you've submitted your payslips and proof of income, you should get a text message or email saying it'll arrive in 3-5 business days. From experience, that's relatively accurate. Enjoy the Rewards!

Came nice and quick. Got the card on Friday, all activated and using over the weekend. Interestingly when calling the guy on the phone said they have nowhere to put your velocity number. So I don't know how the 60,000 bonus points get credited directly with Velocity?

I rang up and had my VA number added and the points came into my VA acct quickly.

Came nice and quick. Got the card on Friday, all activated and using over the weekend. Interestingly when calling the guy on the phone said they have nowhere to put your velocity number. So I don't know how the 60,000 bonus points get credited directly with Velocity?

My application had stalled out. Had to call up and ask what was going on. Just got me to confirm a few details I had entered on the form and good to go. This happens regularly to me for some reason..

Still wondering if anyone has cancelled this card and got the annual fee refunded without using the complimentary flights?

Anyone able to comment on the foreign exchange rates on this card? Comparable to 28 Degrees and Bankwest etc?

Also, has anyone used the Cash Advance (fee free) while overseas? FX the same as credit purchase?

i can not compare with BW or 28 degrees, but when i used it about a month ago the margin on USD to AUD conversion was about 1.2% (i used XE - Credit Card Charges Calculator to compare against midmarket rates), the amount was about 550usd and charged to Amex.

i'd say the margin is worse than i expected, but still better than most other cards.

Thanks for the feedback. My 28 Deg MC is usually spot on (intra day low of the pair using Oanda or XE as their reference source).

So what we're saying is that this card does indeed charge a foreign exchange fee of ~1.2%. It's marketed as FX fee free but they sneakily add it in to their calculations. 1.2% is not worth it even on the Amex IMHO. But the cash advance availability is definitely a keeper for the sheer ease and convenience, even at 1.2%!

Anyone else have experience with the FX rates they've got?

ANZ may not add a fee, but you will get whatever rate the card scheme is using on the day. MasterCard and Visa publish caluclators, while Amex does not. On any given day, you may get different FX rates on the different cards.

Ah yes. But the I thought the card providers always use the intra-day low of the spread (despite XE stating mid). So on any given day the spread may be 1c (eg. 76.0 - 77.0), however a 1.2% clip suggests a spread of 2.3 - 2.5c which may happen, but not often.

Has anyone had any experiences redeeming the comp flights during peak periods. For example I'd like to book MEL-DRW or CNS over a public holiday long weekend. Also my partner and I both got this card, has anyone had any experiences booking two seats ? Thanks in advance.

thanks, that's helpful to know. Would have loved to have used it for an emergency dash to Perth earlier in the month, but the 60 day wait time saw the end of that plan!

Wow was this published anywhere? About the reward seats? I thought they came out of discount economy inventory. Didn't realise the need for award seats to be available.
