I am thinking the same as you PF. Was planning to buy an iPad mini to replace my iPad, but am thinking that a 6 plus might just do the job when travelling. So the way I look at I'm actually saving money

FTR: iPhone 6 release on Friday Sept 19. Chadstone Melb store did $1.75million in sales purely on iPhone 6. Only sold 180 6 pluses for the day.

FFTR: Cruiserette saw 6+ in NY yesterday and will def be buying one on ret to Australia - 6 and 6+ just feel spectacular in your hand.

My wife is very much a paid up member of the Apple fanatics club. She bought me and her the iPhone5 when it came out in Sep 2012. These 2 phones were recently the subject of the Apple recall because of the battery. Both of us took our phones in to the Apple store to get the battery swapped over. The techos managed to break both (yes BOTH) phones in the process and so they gave us brand new iPhone5s each. I thought great, a new phone! That will do me for a couple more years. My wife was horrified with my reaction - and brand new iPhone5 or not, she has gone to Apple today to try and get iPhone6.

Did she take the 'new 5' to trade it in (I hope!)?

There is NO truth to the rumour that the 6+ can be used as a make-up mirror.

Kudos to TNT; they put on a heap of contractors and made deliveries up to 9pm last night to get all the phones out. Got mine minutes before I had to head out for dinner. Hoping to restore from back-up today then pop into Telstra for a new sim card after work.

Alas not, it appears that she is going to give her brand new 5 to the oldest SydneySwan junior (just turned 16). However she has not bought the 6 yet. As she has an overseas trip in a few weeks she is going to dovetail the purchase with that so she can reclaim the GST.

As promised, my report on my first 24 hours with an iPhone 6+

I love it, yes the size will take some adjustments in how I carry and use it.
But the features and clarity are great.
My eyesight is not as good as it once was, and as such a bigger clearer screen is just the ticket.
So it's a 10/10 from me

I'm loving my 6 but the size requires a few adjustments. One handed use makes it hard to reach the apps at the top. Nice and quick though. Wish you didn't require the passcode every time but there doesn't seem to be a way to turn that off as yet.

TouchID removes the need to enter a passcode except when you turn it on from fully powered off.
