All things being equal, I shall have my new iPhone 6 plus by this afternoon, I shall happily provide a preliminary report on it.
Mind you, I held off to the afternoon as I was warned the must have new phone junkies will be flooding the place in the morning .
I didn't think I would get it so soon actually.

Will pick up my iPhone 6 at 9.00am today. Have already upgraded my 5 to operating system 8 so can copy easily
Chose the 64gb gold and am changing from optus to VF

Mine should be delivered next week; a few extra days won't kill me, I don't think :p

64GB space grey ordered and delivered this morning around 7:20am. I'm glad I didn't get the plus as this size is perfect.

Resore worked mainly ok

Now I have to suck down all my apps from the App Store ( this happened from 4 to 5) so not sure if my Itunes isn't working as it should or just the 5 to 6 restore????

Phone has a great feel though, much bigger screen and lighter!

Grrrrrr.. (why did I upgrade)

ios8 upgrade has broken Dock Connector to HDMI.
Using an old iPad2 to display a single FilemakerPro screen on a TV.
It randomly does/does not detect the dock (now shown under AirPlay tab) but gets no signal to TV.

Can maybe get around it by adding an AppleTV, but a PIA.

Anyone know how you can stop the screensaver on AppleTv.

No idea I am afraid but it is not something I would ever do. After 30 years in IT I am never first in the queue to take delivery of something new. Let others try first and you can learn from them.

I have updated the iPad mini to iOS8, and will wait a bit before doing the iPhone 5S.

I dropped into an Apple store this afternoon and had a look at the new phones. The 6 is about right for size I think. The 6 plus is a tad big, and I have my iPad anyway.

I am not sure how Telstra's upgrade policy will work as I got my phone before they brought in the 12 month upgrade facility. I might just have to cool my heels for a while.

So many iPhone users can't or won't upgrade to 8 as it takes an awful lot of storage. Anyone on a 16 GB would struggle.

Lucky I went for the 128GB option .... apparently after iOS8 there is only 114GB left.

Well I just got notified by telstra that mine will ship tomorrow.

This poor guy from Perth was the first to get his Iphone 6.

That's the sort of thing I would do. Gosh this predictive text is amazing. I am just typing a couple of letters at most to write this post.

Picked up my 6 from in-store yesterday. Lines were almost non existent, but the sales guy did say the line was out the door earlier in the day and he was expecting it it to be brutal after 5pm. This was a telstra store.

He also said they only got a total of 7 plus's but about 150 6's, so a lot of the stock must be going to the Apple Store's.

Plus is just too big for me. Feels nice in the hand, but not practical in pockets. A tip if you want to hold it to see for yourself, try to get to an Apple Store, as all the other retailers have massive security clamps and it's very hard to get a feel for the device.

Not being an Apple aficionado (I admit to having an iPad mini) I just don't get this 'must be the first to own an iThing' and queuing up for the dubious privilege. Feel sorry for those who feel the need to do this. I'm in Vancouver at the moment and honestly, I burst out laughing when I walked by an Apple store and there was a queue of maybe a hundred or so in the drizzle straining to buy.

Don't get me wrong, if you intend to buy a new phone, and are OK with iPhones, why not get one as soon as it's available (ie by order), but queuing for a day or more???

I'm in the SydneySwan camp (in more ways than one ... go, Swannies!!) I'm happy for the masses to beat the heck out of any new product and find the faults.

I do intend to buy an iPhone, large version, but can restrain myself for a while yet.

The Telstra courier has just delivered the phone to my home - much more civilised way of doing things ;)

Here are a couple of snaps showing the scale compared to my now dropped kicked Samsung SIII :D iphone 6 128GB.
