Aquire 10K bonus for using a new partner and double flight points

I have some progress in getting Regus points. To summarize I took out a preferred membership and used the lounge last October and until recently had little joy with Regus in terms of getting the points. I then took up the issue with Qantas included on the emails. Suddenly some action. I must say I was expecting Qantas to refer me back to the Regus but they seem to have picked it up with the vendor to see what the problem was and what system issues might be underlying it.

So now I am on a promise from both Regus and Qantas. Without elaborating too much on what are reasonabley expected by everyone involved to be private conversations and listening between the words - it seems that some underlying 'system' or 'systemic' issues with points handover between Regus and Aquire are being resolved right now.

Will keep you posted. Hopefully that process will sort out the issue for everyone else waiting.

Well done on taking up the baton and running with it - often it seems like a poison chalice. There's a good reason I have their card but don't use it

Actually the card has proved useful in HKG and I expect SIN as well. It is so nice to get back to the hotel and have a dry and cool room that I sometimes abandon my tree hugging environment loving disposition and put it in the power switch near the door where your room card goes - to leave the power on while I am out. It's never been stolen :-)

Monthly statement just arrived by email (one of my two accounts) and my points have come (10,060)

16-Jan-2015 Aquire 10,000 Bonus Points for earning with a new partner Oct-Nov 2014
12-Nov-2014 Secure Parking Secure Parking Pty Ltd 60

So I'll need to check my other account over the weekend but it looks good, as it will have the same number of points (same transaction) :D

Did have to laugh at one of the current offers:

1,000 bonus Aquire Points with Staples

Spend $150 or more on eligible products in one transaction between 1 and 15 February 2015 and receive 1,000 bonus Aquire Points8.

A far cry from the last offer :D - I think they learnt a lot from their earlier mistakes

Sure enough, there are also 10,060 points in my second Aquire account now that I have checked. Seems both accounts now have had their points transferred to my account, a nice haul (overall) of 30,120 for $74 (IIRC - as I had to pay a joining fee of $50 for one)

Sure enough, after doing the two transactions, check my QFF activity statement and sure enough:

(I'd already transferred the first 10K bonus a month or so)

I can imagine that amaroo and others have done very well ;) :D

Qantas has Removed the annual fee for the program. Check your inbox for details.

Indeed, I got the email about 45 mins ago. The email states:

We're delivering savings to Aquire Members. From 3 February 2015, there will be no annual membership fee[SUP]1[/SUP]. A business' Aquire Points will remain active so long as the business keeps earning or converting Aquire Points at least once in an 18-month period.

As well as savings, we're continuing to welcome new Aquire partners, such as our most recent additions, Harvey Norman Commercial and Storage King – giving your business even more opportunity to boost Aquire Points earn on eligible business spend.

Benefits of Aquire (effective from 3 February 2015)

• Continue to earn rewards on a wide range of business spend
• Convert Aquire Points into Qantas Points (at a ratio of 1:1) to any Qantas Frequent Flyer membership account
• Once converted, Qantas Points can be used for everything from flights, upgrades and hotels, to gifts, wine and experiences from the online Qantas Store. For more information on redeeming Qantas Points, visit qantas.com/usingpoints
• Annual membership no longer applies[SUP]1[/SUP]

Seems sensible to align the expiry period to that of QFF accounts. Very clever idea to drop the membership fee - perhaps they haven't had anywhere near the take-up they expected since the fee was introduced.

Your pending flight points still expire if you don't make 20,000 though. I suppose this is so it is not abused by the smaller user rather than a larger business ( who they are targeting)

For any businesses of AFF members, the 18 months hurdle shouldn't cause too many headaches:

A business' Aquire Points will remain active so long as the business keeps earning or converting Aquire Points at least once in an 18-month period.

A simple purchase of parking from Secure Parking, or Staples stationary will keep the account active. Not a difficult transaction...

Okay, now I see your point:

Do my Aquire Points expire and if so, when?
Aquire Points will only expire if a Member does not earn or convert Aquire Points at least once in a consecutive 18 month period. Activity date is the day the Aquire Program Partner advises us that it took place. For eligible flights, the activity date is the flight date. Members must achieve at least 20,000 points from air travel and two unique flyers each membership year for those points to be convertible to Qantas Points.

I'm glad that at present, neither of my businesses have yet to put a flight through Acquire (or even flown QF on company $), so of little issue (to me) anyway. YMMV. As a one man operation, I can't have two unique flyers - looks like my wife then might have to travel of the company $ to meet that rule. Not an insurmountable obstacle.

Just because you assign an ABN to a ticket for Aquire (which you can do long after it is ticketed and invoiced if that worries you) does not mean the company has to pay for it. The ABN is being used to track and group - not necessarily to issue tax invoices against. So it seems there is nothing stopping a person from having their customers/ suppliers / friend who travel with them or separately put their ABN on tickets - which if they are not members of aquire are likely to oblige.

In a way Qantas should see this as a benefit. I've tipped most of my eggs into the QF basket - so when I plan travel for customers I generally book QF. It encourages me to book other people with them.

In addition to the annual fee being abolished, new businesses joining before the end of February pay no joining fee.

I did the same thing, signed my son up to QFF, transfered 10,000 points from Aquire to his account. We will have to wait and see if they will pay the new QFF member bonus.

Did the same. Fingers crossed.

You may uncross those fingers Blackcat20 (and others), I can confirm that the 10k bonus points have posted to my daughters (new QFF member) account. It posted as "EXCLUSIVE BONUS POINTS".

Nope, no joy here still. Might have to chase. Did you leave the original 10k? I'm wondering if its because I moved it out...

Happy Dude, do you remember when your daughter's account was established? I've been watching out for a family member's new member bonus points and no joy as of yet.

I had it post ok to one family members account (opened Nov) however nothing on the others (opened Dec).

According to the screen shot I took, bonus points may take three months from when the qualifying points are earned. So I've got till March.

Thanks. I'll update my calendar. Qualifying points hit the account in December so I'll be patient.
It looks like quite a few of us will be watching closely in March.

Can anyone give me one good reason why it should take that long other than most people forget after a while ?
call me a cynic if you like
