Aquire 50% extra Status Credits and double Aquire points offer

I wasn't going to say anything, no doubt the tone of this post will be unacceptable. But Please stop over thinking this stuff!

The minimum requirement is quoted below. The 50% should be earned if:

  1. Meeting the Aquire business purpose requirement.
  2. the flight:
    • has a QF flight number
    • is operated by Qantas, Emirates or American airlines (and possibly other airlines but that's not clear)
  3. The ticket:
    • was purchased in Australia
    • has a number starting with "081"

The port of departure for a flight is, almost, entirely separate to the ticket purchase location. Obviously if your itinerary starts outside Australia it is unlikely to have been purchased in Australia.

If your bookings meet those requirements then they should be eligible for the bonus.

1. Why?
2. Yes, any eligible flight up to 30 April.

Discussed in posts #70 & 71. An eligible flight is explained in point 3 -
3 An Eligible Flight means a Domestic or International flight which has a Qantas 'QF' flight number on the ticket that is purchased in Australia; is operated by Qantas, Emirates or American Airlines; has a ticket number commencing with '081'; and is booked and travelled for business on or after the date the business registers for Aquire. Exclusions apply

Hmm - I don't remember doing that registration for the offer! Will have to phone Aquire tomorrow and ask :-(

Log into your account, click on the exclusive offers link on the left, that will then tell you if you're registered or give you the option to register.

Not sure why you're ranting, but hey go ahead. Be as patronising as you want.

The reason I ask is because it was mentioned on another FF thread that it's only one leg of a booking because of the fine print below. I wanted to know if anyone had actually booked/flown/received the bonus. Yes I know, I know - up to 8 weeks but on the off chance something had happened already.

Oh, so this is the fine print I meant. In another forum someone interpreted it as only one segment, but I would see it as it's either the Aquire SC offer or the regular 50% offer, not both...

"Only one bonus Aquire Points or Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary. If you qualify for multiple offers, the offer first registered for will be applied to each individual qualifying segment."

I am not sure how someone interpret it as meaning only the first leg of an itinerary would be eligible. I read it as: should one is offered multiple offers, only the first offer registered will be used (this basically eliminates "stackable" offers, that is all).

It might have been useful to clearly raise this concern and quote the relevant condition at the first opportunity. Going back over your question, you only asked about 50% bonus SC on the first leg, without mentioning this either bonus points or bonus SC thing.

As others have mentioned that condition prevents the use of multiple offers. I have registered for one offer to earn both double aquire points and 50% extra SC. Probably also worth noting that the offer is based around a ticket, not segments on a ticket.

BTW what is this other forum? Just so I know where to avoid bad advice, or at least avoid people who don't know the difference between "and" and "or". Perhaps you might like to direct them to the grammar thread, when you direct them to this thread.

Thanks - that's how I read it too, but as I said, another forum, another person suggested otherwise...

And no one here has actually had the bonus SC appear yet? Very early, I know, but other bonus SC offers take only 2-3 days in my experience.

You have been somewhat disingenuous in the way in which you asked your original question. AFF members took the time to respond. You should probably ask further advice on the other thread.

Oh I'm sorry - you didn't read ALL of the fine print when you were quoting it in your answer to me?

Oh and I don't care about bonus points, I was only asking about the SCs. And I was asking for clarification, not to be berated.

Thanks for all your patronizing opinions and donating your very valuable time by deigning to respond to my query.

I think I was pretty clear with my questions. I reject the assertion that I have been disingenous. If you thought the question was invalid, you could have simply not wasted your time in responding.

If posturing on an internet forum makes you feel important, go ahead.

Every time an offer like this comes out there is mass confusion about the T&Cs. Seriously these things are not that complicated people. Stop reading what other people say about it and take the 5 minutes to read them yourself.

Or I read it and dismissed it as irrelevant. How would reading irrelevant fine print have helped decipher what you were really asking?

Regardless of your personal interest, the question is still predicated on there being some optional crediting of points or SC. That simply is not the case. But in terms of understanding your question, full details are important.

Possibly better to get advice here, given the apparent quality elsewhere.

In terms of earning, my december double Aquire points were a mixed bag. One flight credited in December about a week later. The other 5 flights credited this week, exactly 8 weeks after the first of those 5 flights. Who knows what'll happen with status credits?

I used two Vouchers, booked two international returned flights and made the trips a few days ago, still haven't received the double SCs. Then I realized when I booked the tickets by using the Vouchers, it didn't let me put in ABN when booking the ticket. I then added the ABN into my booking before I selected seats, so question is am I eligible for 50% extra SCs and double Aquire points or not?

How very interesting indeed...

And yet ..."if you’re reading this it may very well be because of my poor spelling or grammar. My spelling and grammar is pretty poor at the best of times. But I hope you won’t be disappointed to find this is primarily supposed to be a travel blog."

It states that you have to wait up to 8 weeks before bonus points or SCs will be awarded. I reckon as long as your ABN is in the booking and you have registered the offer on that ABN at some time during the promotion period, then it will be eligible.

I have a bunch of gift vouchers bought in December but flights redeemed during the promotion period that I'm prepared to go into bat for ensuring I receive the bonus points and SCs.

If booking with vouchers there isn't much option but to add the ABN later. I've never had an issue with flights crediting to Aquire in this way. Just get into the routine of managing the booking immediately to select seats and add the ABN. It's a bit of a pain, but not much choice.

Oh goody! Some people are reading my blog!

I now understand the problem with the other forum given the confusion between reading comprehension and writing style.

Now can the rest of us get back to the topic, or do you want to keep up the posturing?
