Ashes 2015

We have seen all too clearly in the last 2 tests just how poor the Australian batsmen are against seam and swing, agreed above, Chris Rogers' experience is very useful. The rest haven't played in England as much, but they shouldn't be this bad.

It seems to me that all teams are struggling away from home recently, not just Australia in England.

Perhaps whats needed, is to reduce Test Match cricket into a 20 overs each format?

By the way that game I quoted is a one-dayer. Didn't realise. In any case Aus A is 0-234 in the 34th over with Khawaja on 99 and Joe Burns on 127 (12 sixes!).

Surprised Siddle was left out for the last two tests. I thought we missed his accuracy and swing.

Anyone want to raise the possibility of a match throwing conspiracy?

To ensure the Barmy Army fill every seat in Australian grounds in a couple of year's time?

With Alan Joyce as the criminal mastermind making millions by flying them all over;)

You are all wrong.Should pick the Women's team for the 5th test.I'm sure they could do better.

I hope those 2 aren't part of our future? We have a lot of good players at First class level.

If there are they aren't putting the runs on the board - Adam Voges at 35 years old topped the aggregates last season so was selected ahead of the young guns.

And what's wrong with Burns? Got dropped for some reason. Khawaja has had many chances, although not as many as Watson!

Apparently there's a Centre of Excellence in Brisbane where they duplicate Indian conditions. This seems to be paying off with Australia A doing very well over there at present.

Aus A 174/0 (25.5 ov, JA Burns 83*, UT Khawaja 83*, KV Sharma 0/35) | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Khawaja and Burns had put on 0/168 when I posted this.
Now 4/331, so that shows a successful strategy. Khawaja has just been appointed as Qld captain, so a nice double win for him (as he scored 100). Burns scored 154

So where's the duplicate of English conditions?
Wasn't aware of this. Will try and investigate

Someone said a tour of NZ before each Ashes tour would give them a taste of English conditions!

Don't know about Burns but that was my point. We have a lot of good players at First Class level but cannot convert to Test level.

Hope there aren't too many lean years ahead like the 80's.
