So back to the women. Most of Day 3 lost to rain but on Day 4(of a 4 day match) Australia has declared giving England a target of 263.That would be a record 4th Innings score.Top score Jess Jonassen with 54.
England put back in just before lunch so only 2 sessions to get 10 wickets.

So why am the women win but not the men? Jess was woman of the match with her two innings of 99 and 54. Elise Perry I think got 6/32 in the bowling and Alyssa Healy got 5 catches

The better question is why isn't it televised anywhere!!!!!!

Womens' sport is treated as a joke in this country. Never mind that the girls won the Ashes last time, did anyone hear about that? Nope. Or the time before, when the athletes had to buy their own uniforms.

They needed Pat coughmins to score 82* to avoid the follow-on against Northants - a second division team. coughmins apparently doubled his first class total of runs in one innings.

Looks like it's "rotate the Marshes" time again. Mitch took 4 wickets and scored 68. Shaun... well... you know. I don't know how he could ever be picked again.

Oh and Shane Watson out... lbw... for 20. Didn't review though. Because he couldn't.

To be clear. Our men vs their women? Seems a fitting match! :) :)
To take this discussion seriously our national womens team would struggle against Sydney grade teams. I wouldn't want to see grade cricket on TV either.

Is certainly getting better than it used to be.

Thought the women's cricket team has generally for a decent run.. And Perry deservedly had a piece on her on Sunday TV.

Sunday was actually a high point of women's sport. First televised coverage of a Women's AFL game from the MCG (and a close one at that) alongside the Bronze and Gold Medal games of the Netball World Cup

And come the return series in Australia you'll be able to substitute all the Australian references with English ones. (Barring a repeat of 2010-11 - worst series ever).

Slow start after Aussies sent in to bat.

0/17 after 13 overs
