They just showed on GEM that the covers were being taken off ... fingers crossed now

Sam, that map shows rain all round Manchester!!:evil:

But not on Salford :p

The heavy stuff, the big band is still quite far away and has seemed to be going no where for a while.

BBC Weather's Darren Bett on TMS: "The rain has torn itself apart and split into two pieces - the heavy rain is further north, and there's another band of rain across South Wales. Probably during the lunch break or just after it, a westerly wind is going to blow in the rain that's been sitting over Merseyside. But we could get some more play after that rain, towards the end of the day. There will be a few heavy bursts, but it won't be as heavy as we thought it would be."

So now Australia has after lunch to take 7 wickets. Tough ask if England put two good plants at the wicket to waste out the overs.

To use a very old Aussie cliche, I hope the bowling attack has had their Weetbix today. And then some*.

* excluding ASADA banned substances

Why is the first session not extended if it started late?

They are now going to sit down for 40mins whilst it isn't raining, only for it to rain as soon as they are due to come out.

...and the rain comes so looking like a draw coming up...and that's the Ashes gone!

I left work and got the train home and I ended up in an alternate universe!

Is this the same English team as the first 2 tests?

And this review system really has to go until they are ready to use it.

Have to agree looking doubtful that there will be enough time.
We are better of winning the series at home that way we keep the Ashes longer.

MERV HUGHES, THE HERO OF THE MCG!

Cricket, you've changed, man.

Ch 9 must have run out of footage. They are showing the World's Fastest Bowler competition from the WSC era.

Rain has just about ruined our chance of winning the match.

Rain has just about ruined our chance of winning the match.

I wouldn't blame it on the rain, that was slowly falling.

I'd blame it on our "stars" that didn't shine at night.

But what ever us fans do, don't put the blame on you...
