Well it was nice to turn on the TV finally at 9pm to see the first wicket. Think it was 1/34, Joe Root out for 16, caught behind off Watson

Watson now 2 wickets for the test series...so far. Very slow scoring rate. Another wicket or 3 b4 lunch would be great.

Well that didn't happen drross. 50 partnership up, but it is s l o w ......almost putting me to sleep :o

Yes today 1/2session 'proper' English test cricket. Boring... Bring back Cowdrey.

Finally, Trott is playing some lovely shots and then has just got caught on 49. Now 2/107

Think it's bedtime

Then Pietersen comes in and tries to charge Lyon on his first ball - pity it didn't go to a fieldsman. Then he hit some cracking 4's.

2/120 and bed time. Will check cricinfo when I wake up

Peterson's always entertaining at least, but there's Lady Chatterly on SBS during the adds if you get bored.

Wow, I almost don't believe it: 9/238 at stumps. That means 7/118 after I went to bed! Well done Aussies and in particular Lyon with 4 wickets

I don't think England's batting is anything as strong as it has been portrayed. It has collapsed regularly over the last 9 months.

Must have worked hard to put on their best when they rolled us in the first two tests.

Of course, my eyes widen more at the English bowling attack more than their batting. On top of that, someone must've shook the Aussie team a great deal after the second test loss.

England have little to play for now in these two dead rubbers, apart from glory.

Plus, the umpires have done their job now and retained the ashes for England so now they can try to do the job properly.

Will we be beaten by the weather again? Durham is not known for its sunshine and stints of fine weather. But I have not looked at the forecast for the next 4 days "oop noorth"

They have had England 3 down a few times but not gone on with it ,they are definitely on the improve saying that we have to bat yet.
