Gee, I check out the British Open golf and turn it back to see 4/69. Clarke & Smith in - Khawaja didn't look comfortable against the Swan spin and was dropped at first slip. Off to check cricinfo

He hit a ball straight into the air, and KP caught it, looking into the sun, in the deep.

Add to that a great catch by Bell to take Smith out!

86-5

Im over it ... the top order have no idea

Agar's 2 wont help his average. Haddin played, and Agar started running before turning around halfway down the pitch, ran back but apparently has a hip injury so didn't run fast enough to be stumped.

96-7

It's remarkable, on the second last ball to lunch Australia were 42-0, and now at tea they're 96-7.

They need another 66 runs to avoid the follow on.

Time for bed for myself I think.

Agreed. Cricket Australia needs to do some serious horsewhipping - and not the kind that just involves flip-flopping players in and out of the team willy-nilly.

Are we supposed to rely on Agar to help us out of this again? They promoted him up the order, and with his recently bestowed superhero status, it's damn unfair pressure on such a young man's shoulders.

If anything, the English bowling attack is the Australian team's kyptonite. It's almost as if they were taking our best bowling line up from years ago - McGrath, Gillespie, Warne et al. - and returning it back to us with interest. If we can't beat or withstand their bowling attack, we're as good as smoked.

EDIT: Just read that Agar is out.

Our fight back is on tonight with England at 3 for 30 thanks to Siddle!

Every time I checked the scores (during breaks in my meetings), it got more depressing. At leas the two Britts in the room were not interested in cricket, or i would have ben in trouble around the coffee table.

Can't get it on TV here (obviously), but can get audio streaming from ABC Grandstand, or ball-by-ball commentary over the net. At least i heard the right result earlier in the week with the SOO streaming from Grandstand.

That was a good decision to go to bed. All out 128. Hang head in shame top order - you call yourself batsmen.

As usual, the bowlers are keeping us in the game - but even 3/30 means that we are 250 behind - double our opening innings.

Somebody needs to stand up and be controlled aggressive with Swan, he is dictating the game to the Aussies who are rolling over...

Agars average is still 38.

It is ok for us in England seeing we bought only the first 2 days to Lords. I felt for Rogers being given out when he wasn't and there was real doubt about Hughes. Apart from that the rest of the game was like a bad 50 overs game on a dusty dry pitch.
Naturally we were pleased to see England have trouble with their second start.
We have AFL footy to watch on Sky as an alternative today.
I have been surprised seeing old friends and colleagues from years ago all at Lords. So many have retired and are enjoying travelling the world.

Just saw the Smith dismissal. 5/86. Time for bed, I'm depressed.

You are depressed. I was busy yesterday and only caught up on the results last night.

The rebuilding of the Australian team could take a long long time. :( Either that or stop scheduling test matches against the top 3 cricketing nations....

Not happy Jan. Bresnan and Root have put on 50 for the 4th wicket. Lead by 314. Looks like the chase will be beyond us.

Time to check out the AFL
