Ashes Cricket in England 2013

Regarding the catch by Smith that wasn't a catch, what I saw was his fingers under the ball, and the ball pushing his fingers into the ground, but by virtue of his fingers being between the ground and ball does that really count as a catch? Third umpire didn't think so, but commentators did.

I realise that his fingers were blocking the ground, but it certainly seemed like the ball bounced off his fingers, having pushed them into the ground, and if you're using the ground for support as it were, I wouldn't think that'd be a catch. If that makes sense to anyone.

Time for bed.

I went to bed when Bresnan was dismissed and that seems now to have been a sensible decision. Bell came in and made 74 and Root is 178 not out.

Stumps - England lead by 566 runs with 5 wickets in hand

Start than cloud seeding cove. Can't see us winning with our previous 3 innings of batting. Perhaps all there is to debate is by how many we will lose...

Test cannot be saved by batting alone.

England is doing what Australia were doing from 1989 ->.

The commentators had said there could be a change on Monday (weather), so I had expected a declaration if that's true to make best use of Sunday, but we shall see tonight. Shame Bell couldn't get another century in a row, not sure where Root wants to finish up ;) or Cook!

Well.. I've just woken up and it's a bit cloudy, but it's not going to rain. Also, tomorrow is due to warm up again, 32 in fact... so little chance of rain I would think!

We need to sign Faf du Plessis to bat for two days to save the Test. Well he did most of that against us last year!

The record loss by a runs margin (not innings) is 675 runs (against a team containing Bradman!) - Cook may have that in mind when he sets a target of 700...

Cant see us getting that score even if the Poms give us 3 more innings.:lol::oops:
I take a quick peak at the cricket and then watch the TDF to the finish and then retire.

Either way a Pom is winning this becoming tiresome although Froome was born in Sth Africa but the Poms claim him.
