Anyone know if points are still coming thru on Westpac Altitude Business? Amex or MC? Thought I might start paying the BAS on CC but not sure if it's worth it if no points will come thru!

Altitude business was one of the first westpac cards to be enhanced. I think it's even written in the t+c's that it does not pay points for ATO.
BUT I WOULD LOVE TO BE CORRECTED

Recently got the St George Amplify signature for the 60K points

Did a test ATO payment and within a couple of days the available points balance increased, so fingers crossed it will pay out some points

Only issue is it has a lowish earning rate of 0.75 points per $ spend.

Will use up the PP passes and hand the card back next year as there's nothing about it that is worth the annual fee.

After a closer read of T&C's you are indeed correct. Dammit. "government payments excluded"

Definition of government payments form the back of the T+C's

government payments
means any transaction treated

by us as a government payment to any Australian

federal, state or local government agency, service

or department or any Australian court or tribunal,

including where you or the additional cardholder use

the card or card account to:

• make payments to the Australian Taxation Office;

• pay vehicle licensing and registration;

• pay fines issued by any government, agency, service

or department;

• pay bail and bond payments;

• pay council rates or fees; and

• pay court costs including alimony and child support.

sorry to be correct:evil: but I thought I remembered reading it somewhere

Can I presume the Bank of Melb Amplify gets the thumbs up? I did a test payment but I won't know for weeks yet.

Hi Jeff and the rest of the AFF team

Any recent experiences with ATO points posting with the St George Amplify Signature card?

Cheers!

While preparing for giving HSBC a nice farewell present later this month... I'm hoping that Cove can enlighten me on the next piece of shiny plastic I need for QFF & ATO...

The Jetstar Plat M/C has a 50k sign on, however not sure if that one is safe for ATO... What about the QCU card...?

QCUCC is a yes.
Application is going to test you.
ANZ Black is a 60 second job but Mrscove's application is pending weekday review...

That would be a net 1.5 points per dollar for CBA Diamond Amex and zero if you exceed the annual capping.
The ANZ Black has arrived so one more card for this ATO scene.

somebol that would be velocity points in your example.
If your card warehouses the points you can wait for the chance of a bonus on transferring but that now tends to be about once a year these days.

Does anyone have an experience with Bankwest WorldMaster card please? T&Cs say no govt charges, but that is not always what it seems I think.

I've received the following offer from Westpac:
"Receive 10,000 bonus Qantas Points when you pay your tax bill with your Earth Platinum Plus American Express® card."

I usually get a refund rather than a bill, but it's nice to have up my sleeve.

Hi Significance,
How did that come, was it via email or on your statement?
Thanks

I got the following email from Westpac:

Now paying your taxes can be rewarding. You'll receive 20,000 bonus Altitude Points by making a payment to the Australian Taxation Office of $500 or more using your Altitude Black American Express card ending in ____. Bonus points apply only once per card account. Also, a card payment fee applies to ATO payments – for details of these fees, please visit ato.gov.au
Don’t miss out on your chance to turn tax time into rewards time.
Simply make your payment by 31 October 2015 to receive your bonus points.
