That may be what you meant to write, but it isn't the para of yours that I replied to, sorry

Nope that is bs no where did i say "do not go to a GP" and you know it. Your accusation is false and you know it.

Encouraging people to follow recommendations does not equate to do not consult a GP, thats an invalid leap you made on your own.

What! 🙀 First, everyone in Australia has access to a doctor if they want one. Second, just because you are in a certain 'cohort' doesn't mean that a particular vaccine is ok for you. That's saying "OK listen up over 60s. I don't care what you situation is, what your own medical conditions are, what your own doctor is telling you. YOU WILL HAVE AZ VACCINE!!".

Really.

For goodness sake, how on earth could anyone argue against the advice " ask your doctor" ... for health related advice. But it seems they do.

I just had to look at this for myself.

There's a big difference between "If you get the recommended vaccine you don't need to see your GP" vs "Don't ask your GP" or "Go against the advice of your GP".

Jesus, I can imagine the War Generation rolling their eyes at our entitlement - refusing to stay home for a few weeks/months because we are sick of it.
I think history will judge us very poorly. We had an opportunity as a society to reset, focus on what is important. IMHO we blew it.

The whole visit "your" GP, or needing to have a "regular " is a non-issue. People can use any GP to discuss what vaccination they can, or should, take if they wish to go down that channel, or if they need to.

Those with complicated medical histories will have a regular GP or practice.

GP's are readily available throughout Australia.

Gladys said she'll be shocked if the numbers are less than 100 tomorrow

Whilst allowing home visits, they'll never be able to stop it spreading

Having visitors in the home has not been allowed during lockdown, except for one person if it is as a carer. Its not about what is allowed, its people doing the wrong thing deliberately going against what is allowed.

ABC news are reporting police are checking people's groceries in Sydney to ensure they are only buying essential items.

All those who wanted draconian enforcement, your wish has been granted.

If you are in the supermarket and grab a chocolate bar are they going to remove it from your basket as non essential?

33 in the community and 22 cases unlinked as of now after two weeks of lockdown-lite do not make for a quick resolution.

So what will the exit triggers be?

This could end up being a 2 month lockdown unless Gladys starts dropping the hammer.
Time for niceties to end and get the Police/ADF out into the streets

Over the last 4 days the media accusing government of racism for sending cops in to enforce restrictions in south west, but clearly its necessary as this is where the bulk of the rule breaking is happening.

The death was a 90 year old unvacinated individual who caught covid in the home (not doing a supermarket shop).

Arguably the lockdown achieved its initial aim by preventing significant spread in the Eastern suburbs (the original cluster) which are now only getting one or two cases each day.

However, it's the spread of 4 cases to SW Sydney on 22 June (before lockdown started) which has led to where we are today.

The fact that those 4 cases have increased to the level it has DURING a lockdown should dispel the "we should have locked down earlier" arguments - we could have had those four cases as the initial cluster and had the same result. They do however raise the way the lockdown was enforced.

Accepting that, in a population of 6 million, these are tiny numbers? Covid Zero has really led us to lose track of reality.

Time for niceties to end and get the Police/ADF out into the streets

This is actually what we're seriously considering in our free democracy? We've really lost it.

Did you not read my comment about police checking groceries?

Gladys is trying to out-do Dan Andrews for who can be the most draconian.

Nicieties ended about 5 days ago.

You clearly havent been watching the news, huge police presence over the last few days.
I have many family member and friends in the West of Sydney and they all say people are still not obeying the rules and parties, gatherings still going on. One has a neighbour who has family coming and going at all hours and police have been informed but as of yet nothing done and the complaint was made 2 days ago.

I am glad they pointed out the risk of having tradesmen in your house and not to assume they are not infected. I read many say to only allow tradesmen into bunnings but I feel the chance of catching it there is less than a tradesman who enters your home after being at others beforehand.
