Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

So Victoria will certainly go into another lockdown now. Another week or two do we think?

It just goes to show, as much as we love blaming politicians, luck plays such a big part in all this. The Sandringham Dry Cleaner "cluster" (of 2?) went absolutely nowhere ,but this one, aah who knows where it will all end up.
I have to agree that luck is a major decider on how far and fast this travels. I say this being stuck in lock down and limiting my movements while neighbours around me, some who work in western sydney continue to get the occasional visitor. Not sure if they think how far it could spread in a couple of days if one of them had it. But as most of us know many just think they don't have it as it's just a runny nose.

There is a pool going at work for how many days til an NRL player breaks the bubble restrictions, only took a few days last winter.

50 people not checking in is worrying.

But I think that's the original one, SA Health thinks there's another site (on the way in) but the three guys aren't forthcoming. Looks like Victoria is angrier than Sa right now.

ok. I'm confused now. It's a different service station. It's one owned by some of the wealthiest SA people and who own the Racetrack there.
There must be a language barrier due to the fact they are most likely talking to idiots.

I think I read Vic Government has gone easy on the family as they have been very helpful.

And again goes QLD

Public health alert issued for Ipswich and Brisbane sites after COVID case detected overseas was in community

The Riverlink Shopping Centre in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, has been listed as a COVID-19 exposure site after Queensland Health was notified by another country that a confirmed case had been in the community last Friday, prior to departure.

How long did they spend buying fuel?! I've bought fuel there and barely rubbed shoulders with anyone. 118 close contacts from a fuel purchase seems excessive?
The Tailem Bend Coles Express has exposure listed from 5:20-7:00pm including bathrooms. I would guess they stopped for dinner and showers.

There's also food / seating at the same site.

I have no doubt. The spread of fear is far and wide.

Understandable. Why the need for hospitalisation, ICU, or death for something you can wait a few more weeks and be vaccinated against? Reports coming in from family in Europe today that the situation seems dire with lockdowns and restrictions. Not having much fun :(

Few more weeks now? Well good to see it’s coming in.

OK, fair comment. Times change! Many years ago I drove trucks and a fuel stop was just that. You didn't even buy food unless it was hot and ready to go.
On reflection I've suffered a lasting effect. Due to Covid I've done some ridiculously long daily drives, just short of 1500 kms in one instance, but I've yet to stop for dinner and showers in a road house!

You would be the exception rather than the rule on that. I’ve been in the freight industry for a long time and most drivers stop and have a sit down meal and often a shower aswell. Big business for the roadhouses
