So looks like 60s man went to and from Y&J/MCG and back via several tram routes and a train.. So that is going to add quite a few contacts.
Mask wearing is compulsory still in Vic on Public Transport. Most wear them. I hope that he was not one of the small number who did/do not.

Reason why to avoid public transport if possible during this pandemic

Some more rules set to be introduced for today for Vic, including caps on home visits. Not a lockdown. Press conf later this morning
@abcmelbourne

I think they will be closely monitoring the first batches of close contact tests that are streaming in and seeing what comes of that…

I personally think VIC will err on the side of caution if it looks like it will get out of hand they will go quickly and proactively to try and get ahead of it.

The Sydney removalists have now been revealed to have visited a bunch of regional locations in NSW (as well as SA and VIC)… spreading the love… wonderful.

Hard border on the way…

Must be appropriately punished. They are not forthcoming. Why is it that the renegades are the ones testing positive and then spread it?

As I mentioned earlier in the thread there will be a lot of contacts from the schools, MCG and Y&J that will only get tested today. So by late today the authorities will have a lot better idea of the scale of the problem.

Though at least most, if not all, of the really close contacts have probably all had test results by now.

Gundagai on the way down to Victoria and Hay on the way back I can understand but Jindera?
Nice detour

My understanding is that as usual the AFL have got the heads up from the Vic government.
Sydney and GWS have been put on the first flight to QLD tomorrow and the Western Bulldogs are also headed up there. Other teams I’ve heard are heading to Hobart.
They wouldn’t move the whole comp out of Victoria unless something drastic is happening

So far it is Western Bulldogs (whose game was to be in QLD this weekend anyway and GWS and Swans.

GWS and Swans was to be in Ballarat (ie already relocated from NSW). However with GWS and Swans they are trying to add family of the players to the their bubbles and so that may be part of the reason for them now going to QLD.

Working in Covid Ward (possibly Westmead) and was fully vaccinated. It was picked up from surveillance screening.

Yes now confirmed.

NORTH Melbourne and Essendon will join the growing list of teams departing Melbourne on Thursday to avoid Victoria's latest COVID-19 outbreak.
The Roos and Bombers will board a chartered flight together bound for Queensland on Thursday afternoon with their clash scheduled for Sunday at Marvel Stadium likely to be relocated north.
It comes after three clubs – Greater Western Sydney, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs – escaped Melbourne on Thursday morning.
A series of phone calls late on Wednesday night led to a decision from the AFL to move the three teams out of Victoria after the state announced 11 new positive coronavirus cases in the previous 24 hours.

I wonder if the media will start a witch hunt on this basis. I didn't know where Jindera was so looked on Google Maps on my phone. I zoomed in, just a little and three places were pinned. I won't say anymore, but I am sure, most likely just a coincidence, it will raise questions based on one of those places ...

If both Hay and Jindera were visited at the fuel stops, then it would suggest that they may have had a reason to go to Jindera (ie another unknown stop).

Returning to Sydney Tailem Bend - Hay-Jindera- Sydney makes no sense.

Now that possible unknown site may be known to NSW Health as they only list public exposure sites, and not all exposure sites. So if it was just say a private house or farm it would not get listed.

I am hearing of a young child being infected from the MCG on the weekend so no way any crowds are allowed if true and more teams will fly out in the coming days
