I should add a bit more about my W.A. arrival for info. Our G2G passes were still green as we got off plane and we had what I think is a normal arrival process where the police checked our app and then a few screening questions and off we went. No mention at all about the case in Hobart airport just before we left.

during the early evening I got a few calls from a non-ID number which I ignored. No messages. Then about four hours after we arrived I got a text message from the W.A. police asking me to call them which I did. They asked when I was at Hobart airport. I told them that my check in app gave 2:46 pm arrival and I depared the terminal 3:45 pm and he said fine, no worries And that was that.😊

Solid "security services" vibes.

So he was a Victorian who was flying to MEL via HBA.Sounds a bit like an AFFer by not travelling direct.

The Examiner has a tame headline but behind a pay wall.

But the Muckery let me read the whole article.Fairly restrained.

Great status run!

As mentioned yesterday, new format for NSW numbers from today, no longer distinguishes between locally and internationally acquired.

And reporting 12-15 separately from 16+.

Cases & Hospitalizations down, ICU numbers stable.

So I didn't know, and I'm sure many others don't - the Service NSW app doesn't alert you if you have a casual contact and nor does NSW Health send an email or text.

But if you look in your check in history, if you have a contact it will be marked red. My friend was explaining this to me yesterday and alas, I have a casual contact from a week ago!

No requirement to be tested but as I have some very slight symptoms decided to get the test anyway.

They tweaked the app a few weeks ago so that it will now send push notifications if you had been checked into to a venue where a positive case had been on the same day (I beleive it is based on the time the case was there, then up to 24 hours beyond). You would need the latest updates and to turn notifications on. More here: COVID-19 location alerts via Service nsw app

Cheers,
Matt.

I got an email about these changes from Service NSW several weeks ago, perhaps check your SPAM.

You can only view your check ins for the last 4 weeks.

Sorry, I meant no email.

I've definitely got the case alert in my history. I was just saying in the app version I have they don't alert you, you have to go looking.

In SA only the very last one is visible to people. Not exactly helpful but they cite "security" as being the reason for the restricted history.

Yeah the email I got described that process. I just check my history before I check in anywhere new.

You will still get an sms and call if you are a close contact.

To be honest, I'd prefer them to be on the ball with fruit. Sooner or later Covid will find its way into Tasmania but there's a lot of north island nasties that would have far more long term effect if they relax the vigilance on fruit etc.
