They both announced it by tweet yesterday evening as commencing from 11.59PM yesterday (or 12.00 am this morning for NSW)...so I would presume that they had joint discussions on it before both announcing it.
Well the two in NSW from South Africa have just been confirmed to have been omicron.

The sky has not fallen in yet though. When do the four horsemen gallop in?

The chances of it already arriving here after less than a week of discovery must be miniscule. Yet here it is.

At this stage it is not even known if omicron (unless I have missed the news) is more, or less, of a risk compared to Delta.
Asymptomatic?

But the usual suspects who in recent past have been proven wrong in their estimations are out again saying how bad and scary it is.

Omicron should/might as well be OMG:eek:

So are we all going to die? (Again…. 😆)
I appreciate the point but every so often, someone calls wolf and there really is a wolf. Meanwhile our revered leaders are clubbing a rabbit to death.

Sure thing, and a broken clock can be right for 1 second every 24 hours / 86,000 seconds.

Some people need to read ‘State of Fear’ because it really feels that is starting to play out now…

The Victorian government are using the new variant uncertainties as a reason to justify their continuing efforts to get their controversial legislation through. Pretty sad state of affairs, just another example of playing on fear as you say @jakeseven7

Yep. This is a big part of the problem. I think someone could call "wolf" and then call "a fu**ing shark is about to rip your leg off!!!" yet, because of all the hysteria of the last 2 years, I'd still ignore them.

Sadly, we are literally now at the "trust nobody" stage

Can someone here help me out with a quick question - what are the rules in Victoria for someone unvaccinated returning to the office? As I read it you must continue to work remotely until you're fully vaccinated. Thanks!
