WA Health recorded 1,175 new local cases of COVID-19 in WA to 8pm last night.
Today’s new cases include 673 self-reported positive RATs.
4 cases have also been recorded related to travel.
----
New active cases: 1,179
- Local: 1,175
- Other: 4
Total WA cases: 10,459
Total WA recoveries: 4,455
Active cases: 5,994
Cases in hospital: 16

Perhaps worth noting that the supposed cases at the two Indigenous communities near Broome, Bidyadanga and Beagle Bay, turned out to be false positives.

Our hapless Health Minister couldn't resist sinking the slipper into the Commonwealth Government "Who provided the faulty PCR machines."

The claims of cases in those places out of the blue always seemed weird to me.

What a joke

Can you tell an election is coming?

Lies like this shouldn't be permitted to just be glossed over.

I do ponder who the WA government will blame after the election....

Nevertheless, the virus is here, there, and everywhere now....

The person you are referring to has been elected by the WA voters. He has then been further promoted to a ministerial position. He is paid a generous salary from the public purse, along with a string of benefits not available to the normal wage earner. To be appointed to such a position, he must obviously be a person of the highest integrity.
Are you suggesting such a person would deliberately lie, simply for short term political gain?

Just fixed that for you.

She is also the one who referred to an epidemiological modeller in derogatory terms as "...a mathematician, not a doctor". 🤬

Yawn speedy recovery like a staggering majority of most others I’m sure
Curious to see when he was in Adelaide electioneering for SA because the CHO will be furiously isolating people if in the last two or three days.

QE2 has recovered, while i have no doubt she was given treatments not available to younger people to prevent disease progression, if 95 yo are coming through ok, the doona brigade need to stop worrying.

Though younger people who are immunocompromised will get such treatments.

The others basically don't need them. Would be an awful waste of resources.
If admitted to hospital there are then different agents to prevent progression to serious disease.

I'd be surprised if she received any medication that a functionally independent 95 year old from Western Sydney was eligible for. I suspect her nursing and allied health ratios were better though
(I was a bit worried that her personal Physician was someone with a similar name who I came across in training. While a very good research scientist, he wasn't a great hands-on clinician. Google allayed my fears)

So that mean nobody really bringing covid over from the sick eastern states?
4 only travel? Or that something else?

Thanks in advance.

The WA border opens fully tomorrow, so really there hasn't been an influx of people from the eastern states to date. What happens in the next few weeks will give an indication.

Tas cases slowly rising. Over 1000 today, 12 in hospital ( don’t know if that’s ‘with’ or ‘because of’) and 3 in ICU.

WA cases growing sharply as is to be expected given little previous exposure, a ways yet before they peak.

Tas and SA cases have been slowly trending upwards again over the last few weeks, remains to be seen if there will be a lagging increase in hospitalizations.

NSW and Qld appear to have plateaued on case numbers, and hospitalizations and deaths continue to fall.

Vic also appears to have plateaued on case numbers, their hospitalizations continue to fall, but deaths are trending up over last 2 weeks,

SA increase mainly due to school kids.

They put it on their facebook page. I no longer get the daily email.

The screenshot didn't put all the info. The part you asked about
*6 hospital patients are being treated specifically for COVID-19 symptoms; 6 COVID-19 positive cases are being treated for unrelated medical conditions.
Daily distributed RATs include test kits delivered by Australia Post.…
