Evidently one is hotel quarantine security guard. (Was just on CH2 news)

Update: That guard was not included in the numbers announced this morning and is an additional case. This will go into tomorrow's total.


A second Sydney hotel quarantine guard has tested positive to coronavirus as NSW recorded nine new cases on Saturday.
NSW Health confirmed a security guard who had worked at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel had tested positive.

At the time, the hotel was operating as a quarantine for overseas returned travellers.

The case was not included in the state’s daily figures because the case was notified outside the reporting period.

I wonder if another burst of community spread in Brisbane will help educate the QLD government that like NSW and probably soon VIC again, sporadic outbursts can actually be managed..... leading to a more logical scientific approach to border closures.

I still think it is a shame that the Victorian MPs weren't forced to camp out at the NSW-VIC border for a week before proceeding to the ACT.

So far yes I agree, they have running round like headless chooks - but let’s give them a chance and PRAY they can learn to calmly manage the situation a little more rationally after they get a handle on some more cases, learn the ropes a bit...

Well you are getting a large number of people (including minders) from every jurisdiction including Victoria gathering together inside. No doubt lots of close together meetings and then a fairly entitled group who probably feel they are above rules. They were asked to keep socialising to a minimum, but apparently at least 3 fund raisers have been organised.....

Suspect the issue is voting, some members aren’t travelling and have been given pairs for voting. Parliament is required to meet at the Seat of Government there is no provision to vote outside the chamber under standing rules or the Constitution.
