Let me get this straight. In the midst of Joe Victoria doing the most incredibly stressful iso work, that episodes of the Masked Singer have been produced at a studio in Docklands? WTF? And now seven performers have tested positive and its all been shut down. Seriously? I cannot believe this has been allowed to happen.

Well, they were wearing masks  Sorry, if you don't laugh, there's only crying left.

Well, I cannot believe that anyone would actually watch that sort of stuff.

I caught a glimpse of that show recently. An anteater costume (or something) was flopping about the stage while warbling.

But the objects flopping around the stage are not the ones warbling. The celeb at least in the first series was only in the costume to be unmasked.

Whatever you personally think about the show it has been a huge ratings winner, light entertainment, funny at a pretty dark time, particularly for Melburnians, so let’s hope the people affected recover quickly and shooting recommences quickly and safely.

Lets hope that they recover quickly. Hopefully their age will by and large protect them.

I do know in the US where shows were cancelled in LA and resumed production a few weeks ago, that covid tests are required weekly due to difficulties in sometimes social distancing.

On your other points, I've not heard of anyone watching this show, and I cant believe that such shows have been considered as an essential service and produced in a city that is currently under such strict lockdown. But hey ho, what do I know.

A quick google can reveal the ratings of the show which is used to determine popularity :)

There are multiple television productions occurring under specific COVIDSafe rules in Victoria which have been approved to go ahead. I expect the public greater good was taken into consideration when approving that exemption and I do understand that approval given the success and nature of this program. Calculated risk.

But as we well know nothing is 100% infallible, part of learning to live with the virus really isn’t it..... track, test, isolate, keep calm and carry on.

Interesting to watch this response from the government which hasn’t had much to deal with yet.

Brisbane braces for coronavirus spread amid rush to trace new cluster

A COVID-19 cluster spreading across Ipswich and Brisbane is expected to grow after thousands were swabbed at fever clinics on Saturday.

Many young people across Brisbane headed out to bars for a "last hurrah" on Saturday night fearing a lockdown was looming after Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk introduced new restrictions on gatherings and aged care homes

New gathering restrictions introduced on Saturday morning banned house parties and outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, the Scenic Rim, the Lockyer Valley, the Moreton Bay region and Redland Bay.

The tough new restrictions, which have not been in place since April, will affect about three million people.

I expect the public greater good was taken into consideration when approving that exemption and I do understand that approval given the success and nature of this program. Calculated risk.

According to this ABC report:

Under Victoria's stage 4 restrictions, most news and media outlets are deemed essential services, allowing production to continue if coronavirus restrictions remain in place.

Bread and Circuses being allowed to assuage the dull brains of the masses?

Edit:

“The entire production team, including the masked singers, the host and panellists are now in self-isolation. They are all being monitored closely and are in constant contact with medical authorities.”

Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes, Jackie O and Urzila Carlson are among those now in self-isolation.

So, D. Minogue gets a second dose of home isolation; being 'claustrophobic' she got excused 'mandatory' hotel quarantine when she arrived back from the USA into QLD. Others should be so lucky ...

Given two people from the youth detention centre had symptoms at about the same time, hopefully by today’s press conference at 9am, Qld Health have worked out who got infected first.

edit: genome sequencing will be main information to determine linkages, so will take time. But searching for cases s far back as 22 July.

Pictures prove Melbourne still doesn't get it

Images of hundreds of weekend shoppers defying social distancing restrictions have proven officials' fears that Melburnians have lockdown fatigue.
Retailers in the capital's northern suburbs told 9 News it's becoming near impossible to control customers who don't understand health advice or are choosing not to listen.
World reaches grim virus milestone

The coronavirus pandemic has reached yet another tragic milestone, with the total number of deaths worldwide – as a result of the virus – now exceeding 800,000.

Wowww......What a disappointing thing to say about hundreds of thousands of Australians.

While this show may not be to your personal taste it provides some entertainment and comedic relief to a lot of other people in some pretty dark times for many, particularly in Victoria.

You should have seen the bars packed in Brisbane last night who were worried AP is going to SLAM THE BARS shut. It was like a stampede!

Let’s see how popular the Queensland Premier is then!

I wish the election was tomorrow, she could just win it, feel safe and loved and then I suspect a more collaborative approach towards managing the spread of the virus would start building....

There is a lot of interesting opinions about our QLD CHO amongst the medical community up here, I suspect it may hit mainstream media in the next few weeks.....

I find this difficult to believe. AP keeps telling us how great, wonderful, disciplined, well-organised, etc. Queenslanders are. I thought it was just us non-Queesnlanders who couldn't be trusted.

Have you been here? If you have and have symptoms please get tested
