The qualifier in terms of delayed notification is posted as an edit and I missed it too.

I assume you mean my original post?

If so the qualifier was part of the tweet from DHHS that I copied and pasted in full. So I did not add it later.

Note that SydneySwan asked about it 8 minutes after I posted it. And I replied to them.

And which jase05 replied to 9 minutes after I posted it , and as they included my post in full you can see it. And Jase was the poster that I was replying to on future deaths.

#COVID19VicData for 31 Aug 2020.

There were 73 new cases and sadly 41 deaths.

Today's deaths total includes 22 people who died in the weeks leading up to 27 August and were reported to DHHS by aged care facilities yesterday. More info will be available later this morning.

Good news on numbers of cases. Bad news on deaths.

This is the post that sticks in peoples minds, whether or not they quote a later post to reply.

Good, so you agree that deaths today were 19 and that is what I posted, and not that I was predicting deaths per day going on the the 40's.

The first sentence being mine, and the rest the DHHS tweet which I copy and pasted.

[mod hat]Could we please get back to the discussion and drop the he said/she said?[/mod hat]

I agree 100%. This quibbling is getting very tiresome. It's a distraction and in really bad taste given the sensitivities of the topic. I'm hoping that it won't come to it, but action will be taken if this continues.

I think there are no other new cases in the other State and Territories.

Qld contact tracing has updated tonight. The list has reduced (due to ageing), but I get the feeling some may have been added. Reviewing this webpage linked Contact tracing — coronavirus (COVID-19) will become a ritual for Queensland residents for the next little while.

Let’s see if NSW Health come out with another public health alert this evening.

(Edit: for Qld, I think there are venues in Loganholme, Waterford West, Beenleigh and Eagleby on the updated list)

Wow this thread went downhill quickly, how boring.

Anyway back on topic - Sydneysiders overwhelmingly want masks compulsory on PT, but NSW Gov still holding back and just begging for people to wear them, only 60%ish compliance though....

-----

Poll shows overwhelming majority in favour of compulsory masks in Sydney

Earlier today, NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant expressed concerns about making masks compulsory in the state, citing current compliance with NSW Health's "strong" recommendation for people to wear masks on public transport as high.

"Once we make it mandatory, it will mean that there'll be no exceptions to the rule," she told reporters on Monday. "And we need to give the time for the community to embrace masks, and get used to them, and to acquire them."

From more than 4500 votes – the result was a resounding yes, with 89 per cent saying they believed masks should be mandatory on buses and trains.

I’m hopeful of at least single digit new cases. hopefully, Vic will make it clear what the target is eg single digit and no community transmission for a week
Epidemiologist Mary-Louise McLaws was suggesting today on ABC NewsRadio that they should target no more than 100 cases in any 14 day period before easing off on restrictions. I don;t think Vic will get to that before the current restriction time period is supposed to end.

And NSW isn't even at that level yet... Thats about 7 a day - MAX

When Mum died we had to have everything removed within 24 hours.
Same sort of thing when my dad died in hospital, only it was "before you leave here tonight, but take your time". Pretty sad really. And of course you don't have as many belongings when you've been in hospital as opposed to being a resident, but we were still a bit upset by the haste.

Professor McLaws is a WHO consultant, but she also had the same benchmark for when NSW should be put into lockdown. NSW clearly ignored her benchmark.

My personal view is that Professor McLaws has some ‘unusual’ /odd views about 2/3rd of the time.

SA always waits until the end of the day to release the results and sometimes they arent even reported but it is a throwaway comment for some other story. Delaying the announcement used to signify something not good with the figures, but I guess now it has dropped off the news headline radar. Nothing so far for today. Edit. None today and just the Nurse who is currently active but in good health.

OK good to know. There are so many people with impressive titles, CVs, appointments, education and most of all, smart looking glasses, that it can be hard to know what to believe and what to take with a grain of salt.

SA Health twitter announced 0 (zero) new cases about 2 hours ago lol
