Well, that’s ridiculous and I understand you not wanting to go. It’s silly to lump all kids aged 0-12 in one group.

Yes, that's why it is so frustrating. There would be thousands of parents who would love to take their kids to Gold Coast, Hamilton Is, Cairns etc etc etc, but they cannot do it as none of the children are vaccinated, and they all go to school mixing with other kids. So the chances of them catching COVID is high.

For couple without kids, they would probably prefer to go to Fiji anyway.

Finally, I don't know if QLD would ever reach 90% double dose, and even then, there was no clarification on their webpage whether children do not need to do pre-entry COVID test (as they are vaccinated). So this requirement could go on "forever" until children under 12 gets vaccinated.

Not sure about that, Fiji more popular with families with young kids because many resort packages include a nanny/babysitter. People without kids generally avoid anywhere family friendly.

The need to test is pretty much a turn off, worth it for international not so for Qld, will just cancel and spend those $ overseas later on. This will be 3rd time I've cancelled a Queensland trip and I wont be booking a 4th anytime soon, just too bloody hard. Better to go someone that will appreciate tourist $.

Completely understand, however international wont be any different really.

Singapore VTL for instance requires PCR testing for children above the age of 2. Australia required children above 5 years to have a test.

1-5 year olds can definitely have PCRs, my kids here in london have them every couple of weeks as need them every time they have a sniffle and need to go to school. They get used to them super quickly.

Domestic testing is a really bizarre idea though given the lack of true border infrastructure. I can’t see it lasting without massive scale up of private testing capacity and some kind of linkage between the approved labs and some kind of record (elsewhere you have a passenger locator form you need to put your test booking into to link it to your passport )

We have been doing babies and toddlers here in NSW throughout the entire pandemic. Lately had included babies in NICU.

I’ve taken my grandson who has only just turned two for two PCR tests last year and I know his mum (GP) has taken him for a couple as well.

Why not? Only a few ways into WA and there's already bio-security checks.

That might be one that has a reasonable chance of succeeding in the high court if there is no other avenue to entry once vaccination in WA is very high and COVID is circulating.

I am not against it. The disastrous hospital system there doesn't need a single person more to try and look after...

Personally I don’t care if WA only allows vaccinated people in as long as it doesn’t require a PCR/any test as well.
