Australian state border restrictions

I know the wait for results in NSW can be up to two weeks, but in WA I have always had results by SMS within 24 hours or less. (And I have had numerous tests!). The last one was private and also much less than 24 hours. Where have you been going that’s taken so long for results?
2 weeks ?
It’s within 24 hours, most within 12 hours.

EDIT none of my numerous tests done in Sydney

Let me guess - freinds in Sydney? Believe it or not there are other places in NSW that are not in Sydney, and the turnaround times for all-non SYD places in NSW is longer than 24 hours...

Every test I’ve had in Newcastle has been less than 24 hours

Back on topic, Greg Hunt just now on Insiders said he is hearing that WA are considering reopening their borders sooner… interesting.

He said before the cricket is what he is hearing. The host pressed on Christmas, he said he would like to see them open ASAP.

That is also not correct. Some regional areas are longer than 24 hours (but the usually no longer than 48 hours and that is generally remote areas) not ALL as you have claimed.

We have crews in the Hunter, Port Macquarie and Lismore Regions all getting their results in well under 24 hours.

Most people will have already made their Christmas travel plans. If WA suddenly do a turn around and open earlier more likely that you will see a bunch of Westralians leaving to travel east, with far fewer extra holiday makers heading into WA.

Give em Christmas, they seem strong in that restriction free time blah blah.

January 1st 2022 open to whole country, has a nice ring to it.

I think the Prison master of WA would see Christmas as a massive dent in his authority so I think that’s a long shot…. But you never know… tides are well and truly coming in!

No doubt on expert health advice.

My bolding. So the Tasmanian Cricket Association and the Tas Premier can take credit for any "early" opening? 😊 🤣

Testing before play, at lunch, tea break and after stumps every day? For the team, support staff, families and supporters?
I was more referring to the claims of a potential "early opening"

Shouldn't need to provide negative tests to fly anywhere domestically, it's absurd to have some goal of zero community transmission. It's here and it's here to stay.

None of the COVID ZERO states want to be the first to 'voluntarily' let IT in.
