Dare I mention the payroll fiasco?

Dare I mention the payroll fiasco?
I’ve mentioned before that there is more to it than just that. Some caused directly by the SA police commissioner and shoddy border closures too![]()
Well, McGowan has offered the cricketers only 5 day quarantine coming from NSW in a bid to save the testI'm not even allowed to talk to my (Perth based) parents about Christmas, the Australian Open, Moulin Rouge, all the things we have planned.
They are absolutely livid at the ongoing WA prison restrictions....

Seems to not be going down well with some.....I’ve mentioned before that there is more to it than just that.
The closure was crazy and should have been handled very differently no doubt though

Do we get to see the "health advice" for this one...Well, McGowan has offered the cricketers only 5 day quarantine coming from NSW in a bid to save the test
I understand.I was talking to one of our suppliers in Perth today and he made the comment that McGowan was coping pressure to open the borders. I made the keeping safe joke but to my surprise, it wasn't taken as a joke. He was quite passionate about "we don't have it here, why would we let it in.." It was a slightly uncomfortable conversation with someone I've dealt with for years.
Came down to an elderly relative who'd die if they get Covid and what price a human life? It's hard to argue when it gets personal like that. The obvious response that life is a fatal disease and think how many lives would be saved if we speed limited all vehicles to 40 km/h doesn't go down well!
I agree. The politics/religion comparison is very valid. I'll still discuss these topics with people but I sound them out very carefully before I'll speak frankly. It's exactly the same with Covid. Someone you thought quite normal turns out to be a rabid anti-vaxxer with strong, and irrational, conspiracy theory beliefs! I don't meet many in Tassie and it's always a surprise when I encounter them elsewhere. I've learnt to be careful.I understand.
I consider Covid-related banter off limits now (like politics/religion) as aspects of people - we thought we knew -emerge and challenge.
I’m OK with that.
Ive learnt a lot the past 18 months about human behaviour ; just reinforces the only behaviour I can change is mine.
Edit: I will elaborate - if other people’s behaviour is challenging I can choose what I will do about it

That's strange, I was up there yesterday looking at a job and didn't notice. You must be better informed on Wynyard than I am.Haven’t met many in Tassie? Hint, drive to Burnie and keep driving west you will literally run over herds of them![]()

A doctor?Didn’t you hear the WA CHO has been MIA for a year.
The new WA CHO is the WA Treasurer![]()
You miss the point here! The only game where this can happen. Long may it remain!I can't stand cricket, 5 days & a draw, what a hoot.
So is it saved? Instead of Hobart or Canberra, I thought a second test at Adelaide Melbourne or Sydney might have been an option (probably the latter two are move advantageous from a playing perspective)I’ve mentioned before that there is more to it than just that.

Don’t be silly![]()
I was actually serious about my Q - I know health ministers usually not medically trained (some are) but Chief HEALTH Officer ?? Maybe CHO now means Chiefly Health Oriented.. Can Handle Orders..???…
Pity they returned & others didn't.The actual CHO, Andy Robertson, is a medico but he's invisible.
McGowan is both Premier and Treasurer and he calls the shots.
Both those blokes were in the Navy at HMAS Stirling.
I noted an article saying a 5-day quarantine would mean Day 1 is played under a players bubble or the match starts a day later.Pity they returned & others didn't.
How can you be premier & treasurer & hide your decision behind a Cho that is invisible.
Take the ashes test off them. Say it now CA FFS.
NSW residents can't enter the state but NSW cricketers can on a pissy 5 day Q'tine. It's a joke that I can't laugh at. Disgusting.
Hmmm..... Surely plenty WA families / related would be happy to go into this bubble too.I noted an article saying a 5-day quarantine would mean Day 1 is played under a players bubble or the match starts a day later.
