Surely, choosing the venue based on disadvantaging the opposition simply isn't cricket?CA also aren’t as keen on Hobart as it is the most similar surface wise to English pitches so would almost be a “home” test and it could be the decider.

Absolutely it is.Surely, choosing the venue based on disadvantaging the opposition simply isn't cricket?
Not true, their preference is still WA as TV ratings for Perth tests is through the roof in the Eastern states and the broadcasters are leaning on them.
A lot better financially to be in Perth and they will only move it if there isn’t a resolution.

I agree with that bit, I’ve been involved with the SACA and CA for long enough to know how they operate unfortunatelyI’m not so sure and I never discount emotion in decision making especially at CA
We will see in time…
Perth tests are a winner because it’s prime time on the East coast for the last session and it was one of the main reasons they have pushed D/N cricket especially here in Adelaide.I'd have to agree with you. Attendances for Hobart matches this year have been poor - although they were scheduled badly wrt clashes etc and its so irrregular here that people haven't developed the habit of going to top-notch cricket. Poor crowds and lack of atmosphere is a drawback for broadcasters.
I'll make some enquiries and see what can be organised for you...I can't stand cricket, 5 days & a draw, what a hoot.
Rather be on a Rex scenic flight, middle seat with booking experience (error ridden) of Qantas & VA 2min noodles for main. And throw in a Kombucha to top it off.
Meanwhile - I received my email re early access to A OPEN tickets and will purchase Friday. Good Covid cancel refund conditions.
I presume people can come from all over Australia (I can’t keep up with the state dates/thresholds) and ???overseas by then.
I am pleased it is vaxed only and hope they hold firm on banning non-vaxed players as IMHO this is a poor public health message even if their risk is low. Hopefully certain players (who lead by example in antivax regard) will have their fans not in attendance.
An AFF ’meet up’ perhaps!!Cannot wait for the tennis!! It will be such a blast this year!! (Sorry WA not for you…)
An AFF ’meet up’ perhaps!!
I want a piece of that Xmas cake plsThere is an unoffical one over the next 2 days ; we had one in L:aunceston a couple of weeks back, including interstate. Is possible!

Nothing that having random explosive balls couldn't cure.I can't stand cricket, 5 days & a draw, what a hoot.
Worse than watching paint drycan't stand cricket, 5 days
Tennis used to be worth watching before the introduction of the ugly double-handed backhand, and until the AO was moved every year to the place which cannot be mentioned. They're all welcome to come. Whether their state allows them to return is the question.
Disagree, shows the topic is becoming a little bit more irrelevant by the day.Where is this thread heading? Recent posts have little connection with the topic.
