Australian state border restrictions

Applying for my Tas e-Travel permit, so that I can return home tomorrow and it still asks if I'm prepared to have a test 72 hours before travelling. I replied no and it pops up asking for a medical exemption. Further down, I state that I've been out of Tasmania for less than seven days but unless you were up on the rules, most people would interpret the earlier question as a requirement. I had some doubts myself.
Poorly constructed form. The seven day question should come earlier and the test question should be conditional on the answer. The seven day exemption might have been added later, but there's no reason why it shouldn't have been done properly. Currently it reads as though one is refusing to have a test, rather than not bothering because it's not a requirement.

Tasmania has junked all arrival permitting, all testing requirements for interstate arrivals. All gone.

Big hurray! Only a couple more states to go now...

PS Only if you are vaccinated, unvaccinated folks sorry - go google yourself :)
 

Tasmania scraps testing requirements and permits for interstate travellers​

From midnight, fully vaccinated travellers will not be required to register their travel or take a COVID test prior to travelling.

However, the rules will not change for those who are unvaccinated, unless you have a valid medical exemption.

So if I'm correct the ZERO test requirement states are now:

- NSW
- ACT
- VIC
- QLD
- TAS (from midnight tonight)
- SA
- NT (note - have to do a RAT after you arrive and difficult for NT to enforce)

remembering the having covid recently doesn't qualify as a medical exemption!! Even of the boss says so, ATAGI calls the shots.

C'mon Feb 5, want to see it all unfold, how the chiefs handle it. Have they learnt anything from rest of the country?

Hope the mining industry isn't too disrupted, but can't imagine it'll escape the coming tidal O-wave.

re; isn't QLD on the ZERO test requirement? your home base.

My question is, how will this be enforced? I arrived Launceston today. As per normal I was lead sheep to the little tent in the south. Ushered in with "follow the green arrows". No scrutiny of status so presumably same advice to all. Green arrows led to the standard zig-zag. Small flight but no thought of opening a short cut! At the end, no piece of cheese, instead an request to present entry QR code and then free to go. No-one checked vaccination status. Without even a permit, how will they determine who is vaccinated and who is not?
Bio-security dog was not on duty as handler had hurt his back. Handler still there, sans dog, asking usual questions. Can't handle a dog, but they still expected him to work?!

Its been on a 'spot check' basis since borders opened. I guess that's going to continue. I reckon its a sensible way to transition out to abandoning the whole supervisory structure.

I don't want a scrutiny every time I land somewhere. Spot check means funneling Pax and if you land 10 minutes after JQ disembark, guaranteed it'll all back up. If vaccinated it is, work with the airlines and determine at booking stage. Waiting until people are walking off the plane is plain stupid!

Nope, got to disagree with this.

I don’t want the airlines aiding and abetting our state premiers for any covid controls. It’s not an international border.

Next thing we will need a passport domestically.
