Australian state border restrictions

Makes no sense at all. My LGA is now a red zone. But we have 0 cases and only potential exposure sites - based on someone coming in from Eastern Suburbs.
Premier Mark McGowan said that the WA Government would keep a close eye on the situation in the Eastern States.

“We’re currently monitoring what’s going on in New South Wales,” he said.

“Our approach has been pretty strong, but there’s two unaccounted-for cases at this point in time, out of the entirety of New South Wales population eight million people.

“So we’ll monitor that over the coming days to see if we need to tighten up further.”

Who would have thought Mark McGowan would be the voice of reason? It's not even a main story on the Courier Mail either.

Just enough time for the AFL players to get in. Funny that.

SOL if you're just a regular punter.

Also let's take a moment to appreciate (figuratively of course) Victoria now being more conservative than WA when it comes to borders.
Apparently may still not be enough for SA it seems. AFL game may be held in Geelong for a Port home match.

Clearly spread very thin from being Premier, Treasurer and CHO give his brain cell a few more hours to wake up... more exposure sites added overnight... let’s watch today... Suspect won’t be good news...

As a born and bred QLDer currently living in MEL for the last year due to work reasons, I was very happy the QLD Premier said QLD will be open for all of VIC from this Friday. Checked flights up for this weekend to visit family, prices had gone up considerably which was to be expected, then went and filled out my Border Declaration and was denied entry. There is no provision for visiting/holiday at all for those who live in Greater Melbourne. Am wondering what will happen to all those who booked from MEL to anywhere in QLD to travel this weekend, and haven't filled out the pass, or didn't even bother to check. I look forward to the ensuing chaos for them on arrival :)

The wretched Tasmanian language is that “ if you have spent time in” or sometimes it’s ‘any time in …’ .

But they don’t that because they nearly always allow transits. During the Melbourne {DICTIONARY ALERT} lockdown they allowed transit by road from the port of Melbourne north or through the airport.

My previously approved G2G pass is now rejected. I got a notification on my phone about 15 mins ago.

Which is fine but it is not only the destination Government's rules that might catch you.mrsdrron is flying down to LST next week via SYD.The problem is with Anastacia's track record QF may well cancel the MCY-SYD flight. So she has booked a second trip via MEL just in case.

You need to fill out the online travel declaration after QLD formally withdraws Melbourne as a hotspot (note, travel declaration is different to border pass - as once Melbourne is no longer a hotspot, QLD will no longer have hotspots declared anywhere in VIC, and so the requirement is to have completed the online travel declaration rather than a 'border pass'). They don't make it easy... 😂

And given the option to return to SYD rather than HQ
We don't tend to do the Qld hotel quarantine thing here unless home or place of stay for isolation for 14 days isn't suitable. No doubt we will have action stations at the airport forming- right now. Last Friday night the airport was already as strict as it has been since Covid start up a year ago.
