Australian state border restrictions

They didn’t get into Perth until last week. 20th or 21st.
At that time she would have been instructed to have a PCR test on arrival or within 48hrs and isolate until negative result received, backed up by a text from WA police advising same. (This is exactly the information I received from my G2G pass and from police text.) I haven’t heard if the lady did that, or if so, that the initial test was negative. Makes me wonder if she flouted the rules, which is disappointin.

And all the delivery drivers and others with exemptions still can. But we arent seeing the mass exodus we were seeing into regional holiday spots we saw last July when Vic border closed and virus jumped border to start Crossroads and Thai Rock.
I watched the whole of Glady's presser when she was announcing the restrictions on leaving Sydney for the regions. At one point she said don't even consider driving out of Sydney. We use licence plate recognition so you will be caught and you risk an $11000 fine.
As it should be.

So today, we can reasonably expect WA to close to NT & QLD
NT will probably close to QLD
SA will probably close to everybody
National lockdown?

Called it - SA closes to QLD, WA, NT & ACT (in addition to NSW already closed)

And with the COVID test requirement coming from Greater Melbourne that would be very limited flights to/from ADL one would think.

The woman and her husband arrived in Perth on 20th, got tested and advised negative on 21st. She then travelled around from 22nd till 24th June which was when she became unwell and then got a second test which was positive.

WA exposure sites, supplied by WA Chief Health Officer Andy Robertson

Dr Robertson:
What I can provide is further details on these sites that she visited, if that is useful. So, having been tested negative on the 21 June, the husband was also tested negative at that stage and on the 22 June, she visited a small gym call the Mobius Strength and Conditioning and later in that day in the evening went to the Coles at Ocean Keys.
And on the 23 June she saw some clients and at that evening [and visited] the Indian Ocean Brewery on June 24 and on the 24th she attended the Burbridge Special Skills School in Koondoola and she saw some clients there and in the afternoon she attended the Connelly Primary School and for some clients there. And then she attended the Coles and the Woolworth in Ocean Keys to pick up some things but started to become unwell and it was primarily around the 22 to 24 June at Mindarie and all of those or go on the website and she did also attend an IKEA on June 22.

Due to travel to SA in 3 days time from Tas (via MEL transit). Looking unlikely, if fo no other reason that the daily worry would spoil the holiday.

Sorry, winemakers of SA.

Basically on the verge of a national lockdown - i cannot believe it! Again all as a result of porous border arrangement. What an absolute cluster ****

Wow. Banning pretty much all domestic travel across the country because all of 35 people got infected today.

So what are my chances of flying from MCY to LST in 8 days time ??? I have flights booked via SYD AND MEL to increase my chances ;)
I have everything crossed, what are your predictions of me getting there ......

At least SA are letting their own residents return.

SA are really scrambling, I finally got an email with permission to transit in ADL airport today, which was something that I actually did on Friday, flying BHQ-MDL-xADL-xBNE-TSV so 4 states in one day, a cross border resident. Needless to say the SA travel declaration system wasn't exactly set up for situations like that and their systems at the time had difficulty dealing with the concept that someone would transit in ADL flying from one state to another state via ADL, but it was the most practical and shortest way to do it. I think all the complexities of the evolving state border restrictions will overwhelm the relevant state authorities, especially for transit passengers.

Oh - and the QLD Covid-19 vaccination booking/sign-up website has just crashed. What excellent timing.

Watch out for cramps in your fingers and toes! :)

Hope it can happen, but would not put it at better than 50/50.

Previously they would have refused transiting in Adelaide from any of the restricted states unless you were an exempted person. They have 'arrested' people who flew Melb - ADL - ASP.

I think the whole of Australia will be in some form of lockdown shortly. School holidays plus miners will be the x factor here that might mean we really see a COVID outbreak Australia wide. I hope I am wrong.
