Australian state border restrictions

Called it - SA closes to QLD, WA, NT & ACT (in addition to NSW already closed)
The SA premier and CHO have LOST the plot...so only Victorians and Tasmanians can enter SA now?! C'mon be sensible and pragmatic...

Is the pragmatic thing to lockout everyone who is not SA?

I think SA was the only State asking for multiple tests from those coming from at risk areas, while others were asking for test and isolate until negative.

They may be "open" to VIC but I am delaying rebooking my trip there until they remove the COVID test requirement. I'm not a close contact of anyone with the virus so I'll wait until they ease restrictions to something sensible. If that means my travel window closes and I have to put the trip off till the end of the year so be it.

Never had the plot in SA...

So it looks like VIC / SA and TAS will exist in their own nice little bubble.

What a joke.

Due to travel to SA in 3 days time from Tas (via MEL transit). Looking unlikely, if fo no other reason that the daily worry would spoil the holiday.

Sorry, winemakers of SA.
I'm currently enroute to ADL. Sitting at SYD as my flight from LST was late and the ADL connection left without me. They told me on the flight that SA was closed to everyone except residents but it looks as though Tassie is still OK. We'll see.

They’re concerned about sweaty footballs. 🏉🏉🏉🏉

Apparently the WA CHO has donned his invisibility cloak again, and McGowan and the health minister Cook will be talking at 16:30 WST

Not all Victorians and not even SA residents who have come from Victorian but not NSW hotspots. It’s the inconsistent application of risk here that drives me to alcohol.

Darwin now a red zone as far as Victoria is concerned.

But interestingly if your flight departs prior to the red zone coming in to effect, then you are considered a green zone arrival, I.E. come in and go about your business as you please. Bizarre approach if the risk is so significant that no one can come in without quarantine...

NT, QLD, ACT become "low risk" jurisdictions tonight in WA. That is, anyone can still come however must self-quarantine for 14 days at a suitable premises.

It's an interesting difference between WA and Victoria now, with the former blocking the whole state under a 14 day quarantine but the latter allowing travel without restriction for most, but stopping anyone who has been in Darwin (including residents of VIC) from returning.

And with the COVID test requirement coming from Greater Melbourne that would be very limited flights to/from ADL one would think.
What's the problem getting a test day before you leave for ADE.
I'm heading to ade on Wednesday. I'm confident.
Do have to pass thru MEL Term3 which is tier 2 exp site (Virgin).

Ade border control Shirley looking at all other incoming state flights. VIC safe atm and if the case on arrival, I'm sure it'll be all clear.

For me, no driving was needed, but the virus/vaccine deniers certainly helped.
