SYD-BKK-NRT TG F 50,000 + USD88.73 for next month.

Sent a mail with screenshots late on Thursday night, received a mail with PNR late Friday night, received a call to complete payment just now (Saturday morning). Hopefully two last Rimowas to add to my collection.

My 2014 LM bookings:

3xJ JNB-PER (SA A340) Jan'14
1xJ CPH-OSL-BKK-MEL (SK 738 & TG 77Wx2) July'14
1xJ MEL-SIN-ZRH-LUX (SQ A380x2 + LX A320) Sept'14
1XJ ARN-BKK-MEL (TG 77Wx2) Oct'14

All booked online without issue, travelled without issue.

SA bookings were 7 months prior to travel.
TG bookings were within a few weeks.
SQ A380 legs were 14 days exactly.

Recent success (booked & travelled APR 15):

1XJ DEL-MEL (AI 787) Apr'15

Paid: 24k LM + USD $573

Booked about a week before travel.

Plenty of availability on this route and a nice direct way to fly from India to MEL (NB: routes via/through SYD some days).

Successful booking confirmed and paid for last night...

2xJ BNE-BKK-NRT return (777 & A380) for Feb '16.

Paid 96k + $1100USD

Sent an email with screenshots on Saturday afternoon, received email back on Monday with Amadeus itineraries requesting a suitable time for them to call me, replied with a time and asked for flexible payment option of 96k + $960 (Instead of 160k miles), received a number of missed calls while i was at work on Tuesday during the morning and late afternoon, got another call from them at about 2030 (the time I requested they call me!) and processed the payment over the phone in about 10 minutes in a three way call between someone in Florida and somebody speaking spanish!

It was incredibly easy! Time for some skiing and sushi!

coughet - BKK - BNE on 7 June 2015.
Took about 9 days all up - but that's because I tried that SQ method in the other thread and it didn't work (even though it was showing as available on the SQ website)
Last legit try - sent email Monday lunchtime, got booking reference email at 3am on the Wedenday, a call 6 hours later to collect taxes, and was ticketed in 10 mins.

Did exactly the same booking for September :)

It took a while for LM to reply my request but eventually it was a success!
2xJ BNE-SIN on SQ246 for July 2015.
80K miles plus $221AU taxes.
It was a perfect example of the AFF community sharing information to help members find more value in the programme.
Cheers!

ANA F LAX-NRT-SIN, for 41000 miles + $913.78. April 2016 (school holiday:)).

ANA if booked far in advance, the seats are wide open for F. I think 1 F seat per day ex-LAX. I am a bit fixed with my dates so I am happy that many *A members are willing to open up spaces on every flight, which makes LM very useful. Unlike some airlines which only open spaces on mid week flights at low season. Those seats are only useful for bloggers who can travel whenever they want.

Just took advantage of the new promo, Japan skiing Easter 2016.... :p
TG J MEL-BKK-CTS, 40k miles + 600USD + taxes for 2 pax
All booked online, no hassle. Glad some of TG routes are still available online!

Thanks for the tip! Didn't realize CTS is spared from the IT glitch. How are you planning to come back?

Manage to get 2X J HND-SYD-MEL booked with QFF points on the way back. So, overall cost is less than $1000 + 72k qff per pax. I'm happy with that.

awesome tip with CTS. trying to get to SIN early next year - looking for flights which don't show availability to KUL via SIN but to CTS it works via SIN!

TG F, SYD - BKK for 2x pax on Christmas day this year. 120,000 points purchased during the current promo and $65 US taxes each.

Lobster thermidor, caviar and Dom for Christmas lunch - 120,000 points.
Avoiding family christmas - priceless.

Also just booked MEL-BKK-CTS for Cup weekend this year... that's it for my LM account.

Now to get back...

For those interested, I see the occasional SYD-xBKK-(somewhere in Europe) return TG F available for September/October 2015 bookable online. The (somewhere in Europe) have been previously disclosed in these threads. Also SYD-xBKK-DEL return TG J is bookable online, if people need to get to that part of the world - or they can just take the direct AI 787 flight.

Just ticketed BNE - SIN - BKK in J for next April. The whole itinerary was showing on line BNE - SIN with SQ, SIN-KUL with SQ and KUL-BKK with Egyptair but there was always an error message when trying to book. Sent screenshot of that, but also a screenshot of a direct SQ SIN_BKK flight and said that was my preference. Came back 18 hrs later with my preferred reservation, call 24 hours later for taxes and fees.

if anyone wants to try something similar, the website shows SQ and connection flights every second Saturday from BNE. So, not sure if SQ J will work on other days, but there are a few options. Hope this helps someone

thats interesting - so they gave you a SIN-BKK even though the KUL-BKK segment you took screenshots for had MS but no SQ option? i assume the SIN-BKK was showing as available then?

thought we had to take what was showing (with MS) if thats the only option online... guess it'll only apply if you were trying to ask for KUL-BKK SQ and you could only see MS online then you can't ask for the SQ one instead.

Yes - I gave them the available SQ screenshot of SIN-BKK at the same time. I just made it clear it was my preferred option.

Interesting. I guess it wouldn't have worked if it didn't show error. But you never know. Looks like you've opened a new chapter in LM booking.
