Avianca Life Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here

First time playing with Lifemiles. Went perfect. Bought miles on AMEX, points straight into my account.

Booked online Brisbane-Bangkok-Milan with Thai in Biz for 2 people for mid July in peak season. Tickets issued immediately. $1800 AUD. Good deal.

Yep $1800 per person to buy 85k points each. Booked etihad 380 LHR-AUH-SYD-BNE on points for the way back.

Once again I have moved posts to the 'questions' thread: Avianca "Life Miles" - Questions and Discussion

Keep discussion there, or risk the consequences!
Maybe we can merge the threads to keep Jessica happy. There is so much crossover between successful booking and the discussion points that these raise that its very hard to seperate at times. As it was noted this keeps happening and maybe its about the content rather than AFF posters being naughty children

This has nothing to do with keeping me happy. It is about keeping a concise record/reference thread of successful bookings separate from the general discussion about booking methods and alternative routings/loadings and the like.

Just got back from a trip. Booked the following for a total of 260,000 points and $AUD491 taxes.

SYD-BKK-KIX TG F (2 pax)(screenshot)
HND-SYD ANA J (1 pax)
NRT-BKK TG F (1 pax)
BKK-SYD TG F (1 pax)

Once upon a time in 2014 I did manage to book MEL-SIN-FRA-ASB oneway for a 47.5k routing in SQ/LH Y as an "Others" to "Central Asia" ticket. Friend wanted to get to Europe cheaply. With a 7h connection in FRA it was easy to pick up bags at FRA, disappear and take an ICE down to Dusseldorf to meet her sister. Approximately US$650 all in (buying miles + paying airport taxes). Alas, LifeMiles does not permit such routings any longer :(

waiting for my screen shot SYD - BKK - HND - LHR TG and ANA F to get a response.

Starting to think I might have to bite the bullet and book it via my united account.

Finally got an email with the reservation. Have till June 5th 3pm to pay the taxes.

Assuming taxes should be roughly the $120 mark as united

Anyone looking to try ANA F they seem to release on Thursdays.

Quite good availability from HND to LHR and FRA Late April into May 2017

Just a shame LM charge the same from HND and SYD in F to LHR

Got a knock back on MEL-BKK-ICN-ORD-SFO-RNO & return RNO-LAX-ICN-BKK-MEL screenshot method with an incomprehensible message about mixed cabin redemptions. The only mixed was the last leg to/from RNO, the rest were all J. Have tried again with 2 separate requests (1 for each direction). The message also looked like they are trying to send me to the call center.

Just got confirmation on my screenshot request YUL-YVR-NRT-SIN.

Had requested the first leg on AC and the rest on NH but got an email saying they couldn't get those flights, but they found me YUL-YVR-HND on AC and HND-SIN on NH.

They then called to take payment and ticket. 36k miles and ~$800 cash.

Fairly simple one, but just got confirmation on FCO-FRA-BKK-SYD. FCO-FRA on LH J and FRA-BKK-SYD on TG F

Also managed to get it with a screenshot showing mixed availability on the same dates when directly searching from FCO-SDY but one leg was in economy. I think I saw somewhere people saying the screenshot needed to show no direct availability, maybe I just got lucky.

You were VERY lucky. I've just managed 2 x J MEL-BKK-ICN-LAX & reutrn the same way through screenshots, but I tried to get to RNO. United has the only *A flights inot RNO, & they are Y only. After several emails from Lifemiles I managed to get this:

We can assist you with a manual booking procedure but only when you send us screenshots of the flights available on the same cabin. Additionally, it will be required that you send us the color scanned image of the passengers' passports.

We appreciate your valuable time and look forward to your response.

I couldn't understand what they were saying originally (trouble with translation from Spanish?) originally.

I would like to inform you that the mixed cabin option can only be offered by our department when the system displays such combination online and if you encounter any error message during the process. We cannot modify or create such combination, reason why, we invite you to attempt the miles redemption procedure again on alternate routes and/or dates under our Enjoy → Air Tickets section (username and password needed).
Additionally, remember that our agents in the Avianca's Call Center may assist you on the ticket redemption process (with an additional redemption fee). Keep in mind that they will require your Call Center PIN. You can access the phone numbers by clicking here.

I will now make alternative arrangements to get to Tahoe (our final destination) - probably just drive. Just have to call & pay now.

All paid US$404 for the 2. Tickets issued & confirmed with both TG & OZ. The only disappointment is that the MEL-BKK legs are showing 772 (old J seats) both of which are overnight. I don't mind them on the daytime flights between BKK & ICN though. But knowing TG, we MAY get something different by then.

When is your flight? They are meant to be implementing the A350 (same seats as A380) on the Melbourne route come August. Schedule won't have been updated beyond October 31 at this stage so no point paying attention to it.

I have 2 bookings. The first is Sept this year and showing the A350. The latest redemption is Feb next year & I hope they intend keeping the A350 on the MEL-BKK route. But they will have the 2nd bird by the end of the year, & may be planning one of the longer routes for the pair.

TG flights - BNE to BKK connecting the following day BKK to KL in J (13 hour layover). 40,000 points, $130 AUD in fee/taxes and done via screenshots.
As an aside took a week all up to finalise, they are now insisting on colour copy of passport. 2 days to respond to initial request, another 2 to after I sent the passport copy to receive an email that it had been sent off for processing and then another 2 days to get the travel document. Paying taxes took 10 minutes though - easy this time (rang US call centre)

TG J FRA-BKK-MEL x2 for late November. Booked online as this city pair still works unlike many others.

Went all miles so 85k + US$135 pp.

Hoping for an A359 on BKK-MEL once TG updates the W16 schedule.

Another week and another booking for me.

TG/ZH J MEL-BKK-CAN for this Wednesday coming. 6hr layover in Bangkok.

16,000pts + $461USD

One-way Y fares are ~$1000 for some reason at the moment.
