What should have been a relatively simple online booking ended up being a bit of a fiasco. The booking failed at the credit card stage - which required me to call them up. Now I understand why it is best to do everything online...

That was a great price. I have a screen shot in at present as I keep getting an error message for DXB - BKK - MEL for 85,000 and not co-payment. Waiting to hear back, though I had an email to say my screen shots were too small for them to read (checked and like an idiot the image/file size was small).

DXB-BKK-MEL should be available without a screenshot by selecting TG in the drop-down menu. That creates the connection (I just recreated that now for a random date in 2017). Screen-shots would be required if you are looking to extend your layover in BKK.

Ok yes. I see. Looks like TG ex DXB is causing the problem. AI ex DXB work fine to ticket to BKK, but the TG flight comes back with an error. (TG BKK-MEL is also fine, but whenever you combine with TG ex BKK it runs into difficulty).

The TG flight ex DXB is available and bookable through UA, so it's a glitch in the LM system.

Just ticketed JFK-TPE-BKK-PER using 80,000 miles plus ~$47USD (inclusive of the $25 booking fee).

First leg on BR, next two on TG.

This was booked via screenshot and includes a 13.5hr stopover in BKK. For anyone reading - I provided one screen shot for JFK-TPE-BKK and a second for BKK-PER.

This is my second booking after a SYD-HND-ORD cost 80,000 plus ~$115USD (inclusive of $25 booking fee). Both legs on ANA.

Success - DXB-BKK-MEL on Thai (J) in April 17. Cost - 85,000 miles no co-payment but $US25 booking fee and $US50.37 processing fee. E-ticket just arrived.
Missed a call at 1am which I think was the LM for payment. The miles from the fraudulent booking had been reinstated overnight and the original travel document resent. It took 40 mins on phone this morning to make the payment. The agent had OK English but not as good as the one I spoke to yesterday.

KIX -BKK - SIN - ADL in J in March 2017. First sector on Thai, last two on SG. Noted taxes a little higher than usual - BKK has a new charge.

Process was quick - sent email Wednesday afternoon, got the we will escalate to manual department email Wednesday night, booking document was there at Thursday lunchtime ( I think they now have a call centre staff member that speaks and writes English on during their late evening hours as you never used to get something during our day time) They then called me Thursday night at 10.30pm and knew it was out nighttime as he apologised for calling so late. Seems LM are back to calling you.

Interesting... there does seem to be a glitch, but I can't make it actually put a business/first together. Even with availability on both flights it either gives business/business or business/eco.

There is a lot of biz/biz or biz/econ(or visa versa) for 85,000 miles I just searched dates n picked one that that came up biz/1st for the same 85,000 miles,there's alot out there on this route, just have to search n be flexible with dates

just booked BNE-BKK-CDG on the same date for 1 pax (business then 1st) 85,000miles plus $86usd
couldnt get another flight from AKL so il be leaving from BNE and meeting the wife and daughter in BKK and then all continue onto CDG on the same flight

I've booked same route for Sep (BNE-BKK-CDG J/F).

Was easy to book online and easy to select seats.
Interesting 5 out of 12 seats in F cabin were already taken yet they still released awards. Gotta love TG!
